  1. Repeat Charging Errors

I had the same experience a few days ago. Cycling the charger CB fixed it. I doubt I'll ever know if it was the truck or the charger.
  2. Coolant change - when to do it

Stress on coolant in an EV is orders of magnitude less than in an ICE vehicle. At first glance just the normal operating temperature is far less. This results in far less interaction with air. More important is the point source temperatures. Local temperatures in ICE vehicles are ridiculously...
  3. Before You Schedule an Appointment for the Recall 25C69 (IPM) Fix -- make sure your dealer has the actual software update needed

Ford tech came to the house and after about an hour said the Ford system went down and the recall couldn't be finished. Lightning drove normally. Next day he came back and finished the recall. I was thankful nothing was harmed the first day.
  4. Tried really hard to love MY23 Lightning Lariat ER

    Blue Cruise price drop?
  5. Road Trip (CO, UT, WY)

I have never seen $.69 come even close to rivaling Tesla in price.
  6. Fordpass - GOM?

Battery temperature, I believe, is the most common culprit but when each one updates relative to the other is also a possibility. It's one of the reasons it's commonly referred to as a GUESSometer. It's not worth worrying about. I just compare the GOM to my distance remaining to my charger or...
  7. Road Trip (CO, UT, WY)

The large battery and low efficiency of the Lightning makes memberships pay off much quicker. They will decrease your total cost on almost any road trip. Don't forget to disable plug and charge because it can easily take charge of the charge for your charge (ain't English fun?).
  8. plug in hybrids rarely plugged in

Our Niro PHEV is what convinced me to go electric. We refuel it around town about every 1500 miles. It gets 30 to 40 miles electric if driven carefully. It's only 11 KWH so about 3 mi/kwh. I plug it in anywhere I can. It gets about 40 mpg after the battery is discharged. I have to admit...
  9. Something about this really stinks...

is the most recent not well done but in my limited knowledge, his math seems correct. It isn’t definitive but it certainly indicates it is not the breakthrough we all want.
  10. Something about this really stinks...

Unfortunately those doing the math from the tests already run seem to be in the camp of the battery being less efficient than current lithium battery chemistry. My hope that it is a real breakthrough is fading.
  11. Something about this really stinks...

Good grief. I think you overestimate the gullibility of those contributing here. I think the moon landing deniers and flat earthers are elsewhere. On the other hand, there have been many advances in human history that have proven to be a leap forward. There is a long road from charging tests...
  12. Something about this really stinks...

If it seems to good to be true it probably is. Certainly in this case. Despite that initial charging test, i won't get in on an IPO at this point. So earth shattering that it makes you think of the mysterious deaths and disappearances associated with the 50 mpg carburator and the water powered...
  13. My Lightning burned to the ground

    Probability run amuck.
  14. My Lightning burned to the ground

To continue with the above perversion of statistics and probabilities, I'll bet there is a near 0 chance of the OP's truck catching fire again. Sorta like Garp's house being hit by a second plane. Seriously it's surprising the fear of an EV fire when ICE vehicles are far more likely to burn...
  15. Better off without BlueCruise

I really like Blue Cruise .... when it works. Unfortunately I have not had a good experience. Less than perfect weather and it seems buggy even when lane keep assist and adaptive cruise is working well.
  16. Will You be buying the Lightning EREV?

Also looking forward to Ford's offering but only as a point of curiosity. Almost 18k since May, mostly road trips. Road trip charging has been troublesome at times and no real savings in "fuel" but certainly not enough to give up even the frunk much less buying in to the pain of an ICE. The...
  17. My Lightning burned to the ground

Likely because that was the fire's easiest way out with just a bit of plastic and an aluminum hood.
  18. First Tow

I believe the trailer assist is for backing a trailer not hooking up. So only that needs the stickers. I've been backing trailers for 72 years so I'm OK without. The hitch cam is super for hooking up.
  19. What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to a new F150Lightning owner?

Interesting. Have your rotors developed any rust or is it a preventative measure? It is good to know that there is apparently no harm done in neutral. Do you need to push the temporary neutral button? I would be afraid the perminant magnet motors still rotate with no where for the generated...
  20. 3W Floor Mats Giveaway | What maintenance have you done for your Lightning this month?

Treasure of Sierra Madra ... great movie.
