My normal activity is to plug in every night.
Generally no problems.
Recently (in the last few months) when I make a longer run where my SOC is about 30% or less, when I plug in I'm getting what appears to be a handshake issue then a charging error.
If I unplug then replug I can definitely...
I park at the airport for weeks regularly. Never have I had the SOC drop.
The closest to a drop was coming home in last year's cold snap. It was a few percent low, but not from vampire drainage.
While I agree with this attitude, which had been mine...I recently changed my methodology.
Previously, I'd charge about once a week, not giving much thought to anything.
Then, one of my kids said they may need a ride back to school (vs driving their car).
My first thought was, no problem.
Then I...
Range is the advantage.
I guess there there's all the electrical black magic everyone is mentioning.
I follow the Ford 90% for normal use.
I charge to 100% about 4 times a month for my airport run.
The site going down watcha you call a glitch....
I saw the news earlier today on Reddit and it took a few refreshes of the app for it to finally show.
Ordered and I guess I'm order # 595...or # 90,000,595.
Why would you say that?
We are all early adopters here, some earlier than others....
You do realize there are lots of people out there that think we ALL are fools for simply buying this truck.
Especially if you already have a Tesla charger...a second is great as they talk to each other.
We now have a "straight" Tesla wall connector and a Tesla J1772 wall connector which simplified our wiring. They load share...which is nice.
You don't *have* to have your electrical upgraded.
You can dial down the FCSP.
I have my (48amp) charger set to charge between 11pm to 7am.
Yesterday my SOC was about 30%.
I plugged it in about 9:30 and it started right away.
It finished about 7am.
Normally plugging in every few days that 11-7...
I bought a tesla tap mini as we have a Tesla wall connector at home.
It is expensive.
It is small.
It is an excellent device.
No, you can't use it with a supercharger.
I'm not a fan of buying cheap #@$% stuff for charging my vehicle(s) in my garage.
Basically, if you don't have regular access...
Situation:
I just returned from the airport. The truck sat for 10 days NOT plugged in.
About an hour drive home.
Plugged in and scheduled to start at midnight.
About an hour later I got 2 messages that were the same:
"plug in to maintain 12v battery"
then a bit later:
"electrical system...
I now have 2 Tesla Gen 3 chargers installed (a Tesla & a J1772).
You can NOT load share between a Gen 2 & a Gen 3.
Gen 2 load share is hard wired, while Gen 3 is all software.
The interface to the charges is marginal at best.
It is all an html interface, no app.
Neither commissioned as they are...
