I ended up removing the charging port. My wire had a larger end and I'd have to drill a pretty big hole in the charger port, so I thought I could run the wire through the hinge port. There's a plastic piece behind the hinge that I attempted to drill through but it pushed right off into the...
Update: Took it to Ford. Here's what going on apparently (fingers crossed, I pick it up today and will drive it for a week and hope the noise is gone as they say).
"Alignment adjusters loose causing flex noise while moving and turning. Aftermarket caster/camber adjusters and shocks. Torgued...
Maybe I'll look for another off road shop around here and try a third time. I can call a different ford dealer and ask about the fix too. It's been difficult, no one seems to know or want to help.
Thank you.
33k miles. 2" front lift to level it.
I usually notice it when going very slow (5mph or less, turning, and front/back on a slight incline or decline, such as pulling in/out of my driveway). Otherwise, I cannot figure out a pattern to identify it. But also, I'm not really a car...
For about a year now I hear a weird grinding or popping noise when going at very slow speeds. It doesn't happen all the time so it's been very difficult to pinpoint. I was finally able to get it on video. I've had 2 independent tire shops look at it to no avail. They've told me that everything...
Quick update for the community - I ended up not being as lazy as I thought I would be and I do trickle charge the battery each night. A lot of things have gotten better, including walk away locks, overall bluetooth connection, "saving battery" screen on console doesn't show anymore, etc. I was a...
Thank you. Checked that out. I like the grommet idea. I might do something similar but I think I may put it on the other side of the frunk so it's near the charging port where my wall is, that's where my plug is.
OH, I'm glad you told me that. Ok, so when I'm charging the truck with the FCSP I DO NOT NEED to charge the battery. Got it. Other nights when I'm not charging I can plug the battery in to the maintainer.
Yes, I closed my trunk just like this. Worked perfect. The cord is very thin. I have left...
Awesome, thanks for walking me through it. I ordered a few parts to make this easier and will plug in the battery a few times per week. I park in the garage so I should be able to just pop the frunk and clip in when I am charging right next to it.
I am going to start using my trickle charger a few times a week in the meantime. I did it last night and it was red and today it's green. I have a few questions I was hoping you might help me with. In your photo below it appears you have 2 wires going to positive and negative? I put arrows on...
That's cool, thanks for walking me through that with pictures. I'll consider it. I don't charge nightly, only about 1x per week. Assuming it would still help once a week, but maybe not as good as nightly...
Did you end up replacing the battery proactively or have you left it alone? That's what I'm trying to decide. Is it worth the $ and hassle of changing the battery when it could be fine for x number of years (I don't like to replace things until they are toast) or do I just do it now.
