The chargers at hotels are level 2 (Ac) chargers and the adapter from Ford is only for level 3 (DC) chargers. At least that's the way I understand it, I have a lectron adapter for hotels and it's worked great.
I would assume it’s possible but considering they can’t get it right with EA…. I wouldn’t hold your breath. Although I trust Teslas software capabilities much more than EA.
If anyone hears anything on this one let me know! Im traveling to Appleton in January from Omaha NE and Fast charging past Madison has me a bit worried considering the time of year and such. If it were up to me i would stay at the Holiday Inn on Cassaloma to charge overnight but work already...
I second this recommendation, I'm using a dryer plug with a y pigtail adapter and i drive 150 miles a day. The only reason im installing my pro charger after a year of ownership is winter months i have to stop and charge on the way home or im pulling in with less than 10% when i get home and...
Farley said free, in the midwest charging is a mess. Im in Sioux Falls for work and if i didnt have my tesla adapter to charge at the hotel id be screwed. The only level 3 CCS in town charges $5 to plug in and then $0.78 per Kw at a whopping 50 kw (despite being rated higher). The Ford dealer is...
I think now that Tesla has everyone (well most of the big players) moving to NACS so they will have the on board software software support so offering adapter cables/plugs has to be more cost effective, even more so if the Oem ships them out.
I will add another Lectron user to the list, i have good luck with mine. I take a 200 mile trip for work twice a month and the hotel has a charger and this has made my life soe much better. There is exactly two CCS chargers in town and one is at a GMC dealership and limited to 15 kw and the...
This is what i do, you dont have to be in range either as it works just like the lock/unlock button. I often do it this way from a hotel room when my next day plans change. There is also a one time charge setting in the truck but i havent used that so i dont remember how to get to it.
There will be a lot of non nacs cars still on the road that may not work via software. I’m sure they will be updating their plugs. It’s not like they are going to just go away, I’m looking forward to hunt day I just see a charger and can get 150 kw no matter what. I can’t imagine what It’s going...
Thats awesome! but i dont think would work for my set up, i have to mount the fcsp to whatever i decide. The electrician is going to run the cables in conduit underground.
Im looking for installation ideas. My charger will be installed outside and about 30' from my house. I am having trouble finding a reasonable mounting solution and figured everyone here might have some input. Ive considered just using a white vinyl 4x4 post to match my fence and looked at...
So this is the one I’ve been using nightly at 24 amps plugged into an adapter for a dryer plug since November and have zero complaints.
VEVOR Level 2 EV Charger, 32 Amp 110-240V, Portable Electric Vehicle Charger with 25 ft J1772 Charging Cable NEMA 14-50 Plug, 10/16/20/24/32A Adjustable...
I use an adjustable mobile charge on a y split cord for my dryer and can confirm that 30 amps trips the 30 amp breaker very quick. Mine is now set at 24 amps and ran 12 hours a night with 0 issues. cant wait to get my charger installed.
I drove 130 miles in -15 and was averaging right at 1.1 to 1.2 at 70 mph with heat at 68. So150 would be outside of my comfort range right now. As I get to know the truck better maybe I’d risk it but it’s likely going to be close. Preconditioning might make all the difference though
i drive from Omaha north on I29 and also NW on a highway, a true 150kw charger at loves would be a weekly and sometimes daily stop for me. Both would be the only chargers above 70kw on my travels.
