In the NW the incentive is built in. Costs about $1 to charge our Pacifica Hybrid which gets us the same distance as one gallon of gas which is about $3.75 here currently.
But where gas is less and electricity is more…
Testing out a new local Mercedes network DC charger. Plugged in at 48% and hit 185kW. Most I ever got before on the SR pack (before swapping it for an ER pack) was 167 kW.
Will keep an eye on that. Guess I’ll hold on to my old SR pack. I was offered a whole $300 by Green Tech Auto. The guy on the phone apologized for the low offer but “that’s what the computer says”. Pretty good margin considering they charge $20k for a SR battery swap.
He charged me $750 all in. Would have been less but the pack I bought had damaged connectors so swapping that harness out took extra labor. He had a second set of hand helping on mine and I had the truck back in less than three hours. Was also very nice to have it shipped to his shop where he...
Yes, you get the extra HP with the swap. I confirmed with Car Scanner.
Alex (the tech doing the work in this video) did this swap for me a couple weeks ago. If I had pulled the trigger earlier this could have been my truck in the video!
Add me to the list of successful battery upgrades.
Picked up a used ER pack off eBay and had it installed at a local independent EV shop in Portland, OR - WattWorks. This was his second swap and it truly is plug and play. It was done by Alex, the gentleman on the podcast posted in the other...
I had my SR swapped for an ER yesterday. Would be nice to have the 2nd charger for 80A but I wouldn’t pay more than a few hundred for it. I haven’t DC charged yet as I’m waiting to get down to less than 30% but I did confirm I can get over 500hp out of it according to Car Scanner. Will post an...
There are components that fall out at 36k, 60k and 100k (HV battery/motors/etc). What drops out at 80k?
My 22 is at 77k miles and I have no intention of extending the warranty.
2015 - Used 2005 Escape Hybrid with 179k miles on it. My most fiscally responsible car ownership ever
2017 - Pacifica Hybrid @Aminorjourney I remember watching your YouTube review on it around that time
2017 - eGolf
2018 - Pacifica Hybrid (2017 was bought back Lemon Law)
2019 - eGolf to...
You have one 2.4 kW inverter for all outlets. You can monitor draw and capacity from the pro power app on the infotainment center screen.
Trucks with the 240v plug have two more 3.6kW inverters that are dedicated to the bed outlets.
Maybe I should be starting a new thread?
My truck installed BCM 24.5.1 four days ago (Your frunk now closes securely with the exterior button, even when your vehicle is locked...). I noticed this changed behavior probably about a year ago so I didn't think much of it when it installed...
I’ve run mine down to less than 5% at least a dozen times. Rolled into the driveway twice at 1%.
Only once have I ever had a problem. I was at 3% getting off the freeway. Probably mile mark 400 on the day (2 DC sessions prior) and it dropped to 0%. Turned the truck off for a few minutes and...
I must admit EA has gotten MUCH better in the last 12-18 months. I’ve been using them since they started in 2018 or 19. The first year was great because new and so few users. But even just before Covid it was awful. Maybe worked 60% of the time.
