Most tire shops or the dealer can teach the truck the new TPMs. They have to be the correct frequency tho.I think it is 315MHZ. I had to replace the TPMs in my winter tires and rims to match the 21 and the tire shop got the truck to read them.
My winter tires would lose air over the winter. Would have a LTP error about every 2 weeks. They would be down about 10 PSI or so. Had the beads cleaned and bead seal applied. This did not cure the problem. Last year, one of the TPM's failed, and it was replaced. Now that tire doesn't lose air...
I run Duratecks on my 21 XLT (also used the same set of tires and rims on my 06 and 11 F 150's) in the winter and have them on a stock 2010 F 150 Ford rim. No problems unless you need an offset. They are 265/70R18's, same size as what I have on the truck for summer.
My son has a 2015 F 150 that he replace the lug nuts on with a set on non OEM's and had a vibration around 50 MPH. Found that the lug nuts were not deep enough inside to tighten down on the rim at 150 ft/lbs as spec'ed. They would torque to 150 but was hitting the top inside of the lug nut and...
If you get a set of "WINTER RIMS" it is worth it. I have had my set of Duratracks 7 or 8 winters now and only half worn. My 06 had 350,000 kms and 11 had 240,000 kms when I sold them. I bought them both used with under 50,000 kms. Hardly ever need 4 wheel drive with good winter tires.
I asked my dealer about this and was told that the 21's are different than last years. I have TPM's installed on my winter rims and tires that I used on my 2011 F 150. My 2011 rim will fit from what I can tell, but have to have the sensors changed out. Trouble is that I am looking at about a...
I have a set of 275R70/18 (I think, haven't seen them since last spring...lol) Goodyear Duratracks that I bought when I had a 2006 F 150, put around 15,000 kms (approx.) per winter on them for 6 years. Sold the 06 and bought a 2011 F 150 which they had another 15,000 kms (approx.) for 5 winters...
