I watched the full thing live, not too much info here to get excited about. Unless you live in TN, then I think this factory is going to be a great employment opportunity.
Only two things I walked away thinking were.
1) A smaller factory that's more efficient was pitched. It was too similar...
For people who don't drive a lot and want people who drive more to pay a higher fee, you'll get charged in other ways. I know a lot of people who Door Dash instead of picking up food, might as well add another 3% on those orders for higher milage taxes. Use Amazon a lot instead of going to the...
There were an awful lot of people on here talking about flipping trucks a year ago. I do wonder what percentage of reservations were people who planned to flip? These people almost all are walking away now, so perhaps it is more believable there is stock building up.
Maybe a larger...
I think this is the key, I'm in a ZEV state. There's so many Lightnings around me, I'm guessing that's why I've been asked about it maybe only 5 times in the 7 months I've owned it. In my somewhat affluent neighborhood, it seems like every other vehicle I pass is an EV nowadays.
I have...
In my area there's quite a few Lightnings, maybe 10 driving around in total. Opposite here with Rivians, I think I've only seen 3 driving around.
You're right about the Rivian, it has a nicer interior. I think is a better daily commuter in a city or population dense urban environment designed...
Any dealer having a lot of Lightnings on the lot is likely a bad sign. Sure someone could've walked away from one and there are the demo models, but one or two here and there is the most you likely should see. If there's a bunch, the dealer is probably up to ordering shenanigans or trying to...
Am I the only one who hasn't pulled any fuses? It seems like a lot of DIY fixes may in fact be causing other issues, I don't want to mess with anything on my truck at all.
How many trucks actually have the onboard scales? I assume maybe 10,000? Rather than worry about the cost of constant updates for the small percentage people with the feature, this unfortunately is the easy way out.
I don’t use the feature all that much, and the fact it's just a line and not...
My frunk button closes the frunk about 50% of the time. My non-scientific assumption is that the button performs poorly in the cold weather, but I haven't had enough warm weather to test the opposite thoroughly. I usually just double tap the button on the key fob when this happens, but it's...
Just announced during Tesla investor day is that the Gen 4 superchargers will have longer cables to reach more vehicles. It seems like all the retrofitted chargers will remain as-is with cord length, but newer stations will presumably be better in the future.
I feel like more Tesla owners, especially those in households expanding to two EVs, will start driving non-Teslas. It's kinda nice not having all your eggs in one manufacturer's basket. This just makes it easier for everyone, my guess is this move will largely be praised, and it should be!
The Superchargers getting the Magic Docks are in areas where the chargers are never full. I'm curious if Tesla doesn't roll these out to the areas where chargers are often fully utilized, to avoid the angry Tesla owners. It makes sense to do the trial in these locations, stalls are always open.
Are the Katzkin seats you have installed heated? I'd love some impressions of the Lightning with heated Katzkin seats.
I still think this is a 2-3 year truck for me, in which case I won't take the heated seat plunge. However, if factors begin to change my mind and I keep it longer, I'd like...
I like Farley a lot, I never owned a Ford before my Lightning and he was doing a lot of things that brought me over to the brand. However, investors look for a scapegoat when these types of things happen, so I'm curious who ends up taking the blame here.
My only fear is that Ford moving to a new platform soon, means this issue is never fixed. I hope they prove me wrong, but making a call in a car should be something even a $18k vehicle can do on delivery in 2023.
I honestly wouldn't hate the idea of making lower trims pay for the tech options, but having the trucks upgradeable to use them. Standardize manufacturing and get people to pay through subscriptions instead of upfront payment. I definitely would pay $25 a month for a Blue Cruise and YouTube...
Now I can block 4 spots with my Lightning while shooting craps!
This is a regular stop for me in my Tesla, it's the absolute furthest my Model 3 Performance can go when I make my way east. I'll need one more of these in-between to make the trip in my SR Lightning, but I assume that will happen...
A lot of people will move from the Y to the CT if it's comparable in cost. Many of those people will regret it.
That doesn't mean the CT won't be a good vehicle, but I don't think it will make a great vehicle in dense urban areas where Tesla has historically sold well.
Maybe it's XM interfering with the call? I can't say for sure, but Sync doesn't know to switch the audio to Android Auto by default.
Even with Amazon Music app, when you start a song there is no audio. If you pause and unpause the song, that's the fix to make the Android Auto sound come out...
It's not an Android Auto thing. I rent a lot of cars for work, I make tons of phone calls while driving, and Android Auto calls are never an issue outside of my Lightning.
A fix that sometimes works for me is to play a song on Amazon Music when I first get in the car. Then when a call is made...
