  1. It Now Costs $145 to Fill Up a Ford F-150

    It still comes down to just these two numbers really: cost of overnight electricity where you live, vs cost per gallon (or Litre) of gasoline where you live. Where I am, in US-dollars per US gallon gasoline is now $4.95 but my overnight charging in USD is 5-cents per kWh...and wait for it...I...
  2. It Now Costs $145 to Fill Up a Ford F-150

    Not Everyone...if you're a N.American supplier who is not directly affected by the middle-east conflict for your supply, you're just riding higer world oil prices ... ie making a lot of money without added cost of production...
  3. It Now Costs $145 to Fill Up a Ford F-150

    Wave at the Gas Stations as you zip by in your Lightning...try to use All your fingers... :crackup: :crackup: :crackup:
  4. Stuck in moderate snow

    Agreed ! The Lightning "Solves the Winter 1/2 ton truck problem" - ie the front heavy rear wheel drive problem. For this winter I put a set of Blizzac V2 on their own rims, and left everything else behind all winter. The best was sitting full stop at a red light with some pickup reving next to...
  5. Stuck in moderate snow

    It is all about the tires, last spring since I got the truck in Feb, I left the stock all season tires on it, and it did well, but in October I bought a dedicated set of Bridgestone Blizzac DM V2 and they (with the balanced weight and all wheel drive) are unbelievable in snow and ice conditions...
  6. Dump bed possible on Lightning?

    Well I've had Ford Tractors before...but not like that !! :crackup:
  7. My home electric bill has basically doubled in the past 4 months! WTF is going on?

    Thanks - yes it works well, and our over-night rate at only 3.9 cents/kWh (plus delivery) is very competitive even with the cost of solar panels. I live rural, and power outages are not uncommon, we can go several days in winter without grid input if we need to (ie don't use elect dryer). The...
  8. My home electric bill has basically doubled in the past 4 months! WTF is going on?

    I would say my EV and 70mile/day normal driving moved my 1,000kWh per month to nearly 2,000kWh. ie confirmed, double however as @jamelski points out, the "not-gas" driving is far far less money out of the household overall than pre EV paying for power and gasoline. In places with low cost...
  9. [FORD SURVEY] Ford (and Brian) want your feedback - NOW CLOSED

    I have no idea what vehicle I will buy after the Lightning...it's not even in the design stage yet...heck, the ideas for it may not even have occured to someone/AI yet...guess we will see what the market looks like in 2032... :crackup:
  10. General Public reactions to our trucks? {⛔️NO POLITICS}

    I find a good comment for people who are automatically negative about the Lightning is: "do you own a cordless drill (yes) is it handy and kind of your go-to drill (yes),, do you run a large paddle mixer all day with it though (no) now you understand the Lightning"... :sneaky:
  11. [FORD SURVEY] Ford (and Brian) want your feedback - NOW CLOSED

    In our home my wife and I use three vehicles: the Lightning, a hybrid Escape, and an ICE SUV. We did this deliberately to have options. The SUV gets the least use by far. I have said the following before in a thread or two, but will repeat here for Brian to see: I "HOPE" Ford did the EREV to...
  12. First Heavy Haul

    Agree with ya, an interesting thing the Lightning can do that No ICE truck can - I recently help move some concrete blocks for a buddy, and where we needed to drop these was up a steep slope in his side yard. I always drive in One-Pedal and when we backed up that steep incline, and watched in...
  13. General Public reactions to our trucks? {⛔️NO POLITICS}

    fun at the store: my wife likes to take the Lightning for groceries - she will hit the frunk-open button as she approaches the truck, inevitably some older gentleman will offer to 'help' the lady when they see the hood up -but then: "Where's your Engine ?" will suddenly be said...she likes to...
  14. Bed storage cubby

    My truck came with this little storage area, it is super handy as you say for tie-downs and the pins for the hitches, and adapters for truck plug. I wish it was a bit bigger though. lol.
  15. Tire life

    I have been using 42-44 psi and the wear seems pretty even across the tires todate - 50,000km (30k miles) time will tell I guess.
  16. Pics of Lightning Trucks Doing Truck Things. Post Yours! 📸

    it does feel "odd" pulling into a gas station - to fill up a few cans for snow machine, snow blower - but not need 'fuel' for the truck. LOL.
