Thank you for the link. I had read those posts. It does not appear that the hard shell cover is still available, which is why I had asked if a soft cover would work as well. I think I will have to give it a try and post some non-scientific results.
About this Hummer wheel cover thing, would this only work with a rigid plastic wheel cover? Or would it work with a vinyl wheel cover as well? I would suspect that the aerodynamics would be improved either way. Any forum readers have experience with covering their underbody spare?
Looks nice. And as a city dweller, it looks like it would meet a lot of demand for something that fits urban parking spaces. But I will keep my Lightning until the batteries die. And then hopefully find someone who can fit the latest battery chemistry underneath and keep it going.
Had a recent power outage, no weather issues. Woke up to dead silence except for our neighbor's Generac running. Darn those are noisy.
We have an on-demand gas fired water heater and so ran an extension cord to the basement and the wife and I were able to take nice hot showers. Second cord to...
I have rust that forms on the rotors of my Porsche Boxster when it sits for a while (which it does a lot more since I purchased the Lightning). Some good hard stops takes it off quickly. Doing the same with the truck should have the same effect. With our without one-pedal-driving, some hard...
I have not had any issues with the cameras on my '23 Lariat. But I do live in the city, so it is never truly dark. And compared to my last car, Cayenne e-Hybrid, the Lightning cameras are a big step up. The Cayenne's backup camera was pretty much useless in any dark situation.
Says it does not work on the workstation cover, but the two armrests appear the same size to me. Is the issue that it will not allow the workstation to unfold? That is ok with me as I do not use the workstation.
Can anyone attest to it fitting a workstation armrest? I could not find information...
It is u fortunate that you are having this problem. We have as a community made suggestions on the most common cause, clogged drains. It may be that there is a manufacturing defect with your truck. I would suggest that this is a problem for the dealer to evaluate and if indeed there is an issue...
Same issue of clogged drains happens with convertibles. My Boxster is prone to this issue. I purchased a trombone cleaner brush which does the trick of clearing blockages, and you get to answer the question "why do you have a trombone cleaner?"
I have a 23 Lariat with the park assist and have used it 3-4 times. It is a very clunky system to use. I find that I can parallel or perpendicular park this vehicle just fine by eye, and using the myriad cameras and radar sensors, much faster than using the system.
To use the system you need to...
One recurring complaint. Had a software update for the trailer module last night. This morning all my dash and radio settings were deleted. Having to again re-program my radio stations.
Is this just a Lightning thing, or are other Ford products affected? This seems like an easy fix, or a very...
Dog mode
Camp mode
PPO on when truck off ('23 Lariat owner)
Recall the glitchy folding shifter and replace with a Lightning specific rotary
Automatic engagement of parking brake when parked
And give everyone whom owns a Lightning a real, honest to goodness, paper owners manual
But otherwise I...
It is all about the range. Hybrid models are being advertised as to how much range they have, not their MPG. Because MPG is bad, but being able to drive for 8-10 hours without a brake makes perfect sense for people.
Not sure what you are doing with your truck bed on other days, but my concern would be whether the cross bars on the racks are moveable. The Thule bars are mobile, and can be moved forward when you need tall bed access. Not sure about the other options, which do look cool, but might limit your...
I have a front license plate frame which came with the car but the dealer did not install. It sits between the lower edge of the frunk lid and the bumper. It does not interfere with any workings of the truck. It is attached with two screws, and the plastic of the bumper has two indentations...
Faster on-road charging, and reliable chargers, are a must. But faster at-home/destination charging would also be a key element to wider adoption.
Please correct me if I am wrong. In the US we are on a 110V home standard while Europe, with much wider EV adoption, is on a 220V home standard. So...
No updates on the truck or on my phone in the last few days. But they decided to play nice this morning and CarPlay worked, after 4 days of failure. Hopefully they have made up and will continue to work together.
