  1. Pretty bad blow out with a lot of damage

Tire manufacturer date is 0423 A simple fast Google search of "General Grabber tires blowing out" yields a lot of results. Not just the 22's and not just F150's but these are "stock" tires for quite a few manufacturers..... My best "guess" is being OEM tires and OEMS's trying to save coin...
  2. Pretty bad blow out with a lot of damage

We have all read or seen the scattered reports of the factory 22" General Grabbers blowing out....mostly with little to no damage, however I was not so fortunate. Pertinent info: Speed 70-75 MPH cruise was set and going with the flow of traffic Tread depth 6-7/32 PSI cold 41 Ambient outside...
  3. Interesting problem that resolved itself (Got Lucky?)

The saga is not done with me yet. Again this morning I had the same issue. Audio out of the one speaker on the dash. Spent about 25 minutes on the road accepting my fate and then called the wife to chat and "magically" everything was restored. I have seen/read some weird 12v symptoms as well...
  4. Interesting problem that resolved itself (Got Lucky?)

This is good insight. TY. Battery is new (2-3 months old) but your explanation does make sense. I did weirdly find a connector on the BO amp was not fully seated, but after reseating it, it did not fix until wife’s phone call. When I got home last night I ran ForScan and pulled the dtc’s and...
  5. Interesting problem that resolved itself (Got Lucky?)

Bought wife a new Mach E over the weekend and decided to see if the SGS Subwoofer/adapter would work in hers as well. I pulled my little JL Audio Micro sub and then put it back in. This morning at start up, I get sound from the one speaker calls come through on. None of the doors speakers work...
  6. Shuddering or Vibration at speeds above 45-50 all the way up to 80-85mph

A quick Friday update: they found a bubble in the tire. I am having them look into if its under warranty, the tire manufacturers warranty that is. Platinum 22's and they have 34K on them. So, new tire or new tire 'S" with them having 34k on them??
  7. Shuddering or Vibration at speeds above 45-50 all the way up to 80-85mph

Great points. I will forward this info to the SA. TY.
  8. Shuddering or Vibration at speeds above 45-50 all the way up to 80-85mph

Latest Update: They suspect the steering column. Tech is at training today so we wont have an answer till tomorrow maybe. This is the first time I have seen "Steering Column" be an issue.
  9. Shuddering or Vibration at speeds above 45-50 all the way up to 80-85mph

Current update: they have rotated the tires, balanced the tires, done a front end alignment, rear end alignment, ruled out wheel bearing, reset the ABS, did a mechanical shakedown and was just reported they will be looking into the steering rack. Hmmmmm.
  10. Shuddering or Vibration at speeds above 45-50 all the way up to 80-85mph

So I did not check tread depth but the original tires were at 32K miles and the new/used tire was just that...used and in great shape...Lets assume 10K miles. I don't drive hard and the tires all appear in great shape even at 32k miles. I expect to get 50-60k like I normally do. So lets...
  11. Shuddering or Vibration at speeds above 45-50 all the way up to 80-85mph

I replaced a tire a few weeks back with a used low mileage tire from eBay due a hole that could not be patched. SA just called and pointed out one tire had more tread than the others. Said Ford recommends replacing all 4 tires when that happens. Stated “EV’s and being AWD requires it” I’t...
  12. Shuddering or Vibration at speeds above 45-50 all the way up to 80-85mph

I do not suspect a tire balance issue...it almost feels like a wheel bearing, but the truck likes to shudder/vibrate at random and not at all times above the 45MPH mark. I typically do 75-80 on a long stretch of hwy to and from work and is getting increasingly worse. I plan to take it in, but...
  13. Range efficiency results: lighter aftermarket wheels + stock tires = more mi/kwh

Gotta a helluva deal on a 23 Platinum. Had to drive 3 hours to get it but MSRP was $94 and then aftermarket spray in bed liner and tint. Picked it up for $80k and they gave me $3k more on my trade the rest of the city/kbb. So roughly $17k off. 72 months 0% and no payments for 90 days. I did get...
  14. Range efficiency results: lighter aftermarket wheels + stock tires = more mi/kwh

Just reporting back after 18 months of riding on the wheels. I just traded the truck and removed the wheels. I’m happy to report that after 36,000 miles there were no cracks, bends or broken wheels. I drove it like one does a truck. I’ve jumped a few curbs, gone down dirt roads, pulled heavy...
  15. Simple plug and play amp to replace the B/O?

Is there a way to put a Kicker Key200/4 in the B/O place, using the factory harness? Or even an adapter of sorts that retains all the trucks wiring? I’d like to start be replacing that, and then upgrading the actual speakers for slightly bettter sound. TIA.
  16. Weird beeping noise

I don’t suspect Apple airplay. I could not pinpoint the sound. Passenger footwell is best I could make out.
  17. Weird beeping noise

Driving at about 35 the truck started making a digital ringing noise. Like an old school digital phone, but it was constant. Not like “ring ring….” But rinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng” I reset the screen/infotainment but it persisted. When I came to a stop at light, as I took off it stopped...
  18. Eibach R&D for Lightning lowering kit, leveling kit and lift kit -- submit your input

Can you share the part numbers and process? Was this the shock that had to be cut and welded back together or plug and play? Did you do the work or a shop? Does it require an alignment afterwards? Inquiring minds have to know!
  19. Range efficiency results: lighter aftermarket wheels + stock tires = more mi/kwh

I had not been back to this thread in a while. I do love the “I’m not an engineer but I doubt” statements. I clearly wrote I pumped them up to 46psi and plan on going to 48 now. I also love people cannot do math. This thread was moved to the FB page and it got the same kind of ignorant...
  20. Range efficiency results: lighter aftermarket wheels + stock tires = more mi/kwh

I was curious how lighter wheels would affect range. I purchased the VenomRex 601 wheels and they weigh in at 28lbs each. Breakdown: Lariat wheels 41 lbs Stock tires 33lbs Stock combo 74 lbs new wheels 28lbs Stock tires 33lbs New combo 61lbs That’s a 13lb difference per corner. Here is where...
