Fridays are always our busiest night from my work point of view, as we are uploading our TEN News Round Up Show over at TransportEvolved. Since COVID, we've based the studio in my spare room, so when the Internet has a bad day, we do too.
Last night, I'd just finished uploading an episode when...
I know some of you have asked about the side-step that we installed on our F150 Lightning prior to discovering the accident damage from February.
As per our video:
Disclaimer - Transport Evolved received this product free of charge from WOLFBOX in order to bring you this first-person...
A previous thread talking about my truck and its original attempted write off has been removed as per my request, following severe online threats and harassment from users on X after the story went viral. I will not discuss it here, and I ask you not to. I will not respond to questions about it...
Get a second-opinion?
TLDR: We got rear-ended by an uninsured driver in California back in February. She hit the rear of my truck square on its hitch-cover, and the cop who attended said there may be some hairline fractures on the bumper mount.
We got back to Oregon, went to a local Ford...
It’s been another silly week in the progress toward… I don’t know what.
Ford flew someone out… yes it’s broken… yes I’m getting another replacement…
So I took the plunge and picked up a switch for factory-style front/rear fogs. My ultimate goal is to implement front-fogs in the lower grille as some others have done, but have it tied to the light switch.
So far, it's just the switch install, and some FORsacn tweaks, giving me front fog IPC...
I'm looking at adding front fogs, but I'd love to use OEM wiring if possible.
I know the BCM has pinouts for front fogs (and actually rear, according to the factory manual) - but I'd love to know if the wiring already exists, to the bumper or not. I haven't taken the front off, so hoping...
Been trying to sort our our network a bit - and see if we can get the hub that our truck and FCSP uses as rock-solid as possible.
And I noticed that our trucks now have an icon in Unifi OS ;)
Neat!
Been thinking a lot about how people end up with a Lightning, and I would love to hear everyone's stories.
I started driving EVs back in 2006 - my first (non electric bicycle) EV was so small It could have fit in the bed of the Lightning. Mine was the yellow one...
Since then, I've gone...
After seeing @ericpullen's excellent work on pulling data from the Ford Charge Station Pro, I've spent a few days trying to a) teach myself how to write a Home Assistant Integration and b) how to bring that into reality and publish it on GitHub as a HACS compatible thing.
I give you "Ford...
We’ve discussed it a little before over at Transport Evolved, but here’s a video showing more detail of how we turn our F150 Lightning into a chase vehicle for filming car shots.
We just pushed it as one of our Holiday specials!
Holiday Special: How We Make Our Car Reviews
Howdy-Hey.
Looking to prepare for our Retrax Pro XR install (second time around, obviously, as our original F150 Lightning had it but we didn't remove it after the accident) and I'm thinking I might look at a more... clean install.
Last time, I ran the 12-volt power cable from the bottom of...
Short post as I’m recovering but holy heck am I lucky to be alive.
I hit some ice underneath fresh snowpack on a gravel road yesterday at 20 mph going down a hill. The truck couldn’t stop and while I was able to move it slightly toward the direction I wanted to go in, the truck said no.
I hit...

@Mods: please delete if we're out of line posting this here (just ping me so I know not to do it again!) - or I'll delete this line if you're happy with the post!
We've just pushed episode 1 of our four-episode road-trip video from Seattle, Washington to Denver, Colorado, towing a 1994 Subaru...
Hi folks.
So we have a Retrax Powertrax tonneau and it comes with a 12V tap for the 12V battery.
I’ve never been a fan of taking things directly from the battery and instead like to go through the stock fuse box. Except when I accessed it under the hood, I’m not 100% sure how to access the...
