  1. Looking for a solution -- FCSP started charging at reduced amperage at about 60 amps rather than the usual 80 amps.

Folks, Among the many many discussions here about the Ford FCSP, I faintly recall reading about the FCSP not holding its 80-ampere charging rating after a recent FCSP firmware update. Unfortunately i cannot now find the appropriate thread. PROBLEM: This week, after 18+ months of reliable...
  2. Update PT-25.13.12 showing Not completed for 2 months now

This is most likely because the 12V battery on Your truck has a state of charge too low to have the over-the-air software update download, then validate, and then complete. Many many threads here on the subject of a 12V battery state of charge which is too low to allow an over-the--air update...
  3. Steering Wheel Torque Driver Monitoring Defeat Device - Testers Full

This is a great idea. Very interested after thinking it through. 2023 XLT without BlueCruise. BTW - a great, very reliable, reversible and easy way to tap stranded wires is via the Posi-Taps. https://www.posi-products.com/posiplug.html
  4. Front shock replacement ?

I don't think so, unless your UCA ball joints are worn out. I kept my UCAs and my Ford OEM springs, and the Eibachs work well with them.
  5. FCSP Software Version 2.500.34-ford.27+26-08

For what it's worth... when connecting the phone to the FCSP app, remember to turn off Bluetooth on the phone. It's easy to forget this step.
  6. GenerLink Transfer Switch Compatible With 240V Pro Power Onboard Outlet -- Ford Announcement

I made an 18-inch whip with male and female bolt-on plugs, and cut the ground within the whip. This whip stays on the truck at all times. This way, the generator inlet plug on the house remains always safe for any type of power hookup, with me present or not present.
  7. Pre 100,000 mile warranty work I should get done

I recommend that the OP checks out my thread here: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/failing-bearing-in-front-drive-unit-just-diagnosed-at-112-647-miles.37619/

The 12 Volt batteries will usually swell at their sides before failing. Those will last 50 thousand miles or so. The big traction battery will likely be fine when the Lightning's wheels begin to fall off.
  9. Failing bearing in front drive unit, just diagnosed at 112,647 miles.

This was a well-established dealership with a very good EV tech who has been known to me for three years with quality work: Ted Britt Ford of Fairfax, VA. And yes the EV tech expected some teething problems programming the new motor to the truck, and he got through that in an afternoon.
  10. Failing bearing in front drive unit, just diagnosed at 112,647 miles.

So I picked up my Lightning. BTW it is amazing how much quieter it is now - is the 1st thing I noticed. The tech said that the Mercon fluid in the rear motor was pretty clean. Pics are attached below. The 3d Pic is of the rear motor fluid pan. The black round thing in the center is the...
  11. Real-World Home Power Backup Options Using F-150 Lightning

I made a short 30-amp wire whip, 18 inches, and put male and female twist-lock plugs on either end. This whip goes between the Lightning 30 amp 240V receptacle and a normal 50 foot generator cord. I cut and liquid-rubber sealed the whip's ground wire on one end. This way, no one can make a...
  12. Looking for Buying Tips

In that case I'd go with the lower-mileage truck. See my worn OEM shocks comment above.
  13. cant decide myself on tonneau covers: #44

Look into the Decked Drawers, 2nd generation. I've had mine for 20 months and in all kinds of Summer and Winter weather, all over the country. Very satisfied. Plus I could finally clean out my basement as the Decked Drawers hold a lot of my tools and my camping stuff, organized and very easy...
  14. Looking for Buying Tips

QUESTIONS to help You decide: 1. Does the 2024 XLT have the 311 or the 312 trim package? My 2023 XLT has the 312 Option A package, and I've found its extra items very useful over time: the 30 amp 240V PowerPro receptacle with four prong slots in the rear left bed corner to potentially run...
  15. Failing bearing in front drive unit, just diagnosed at 112,647 miles.

I expect to pick up the truck later today and I'll report afterwards.
  16. Will US EV production survive?

    An interesting read. Thank You.
