  1. How to make "Keep Pro Power on when Vehicle Off" actually work -- DIY solution

L1 uses I think 120V 12A if I recall correctly, 1.44kW, but I think you would be draining the HVB faster than you are charging it because of inverter losses in the PPOB, AC-DC losses in the L1 charging, and losses in the L1 FMPC charger too. So you'd probably be losing more energy that way that...
  2. How to Install Ford's OEM 360 Cameras and Front Parking Sensors on a Lightning -- DIY Writeup

Yes, I saw that too, sometimes there is a work around, or updated model, but you'd have to check with them about that.
  3. Is there a meter or method to determine the 12volt battery state of charge (SOC)?

That's the second one I've read about this week - another HVJB was causing a problem with the PPOB. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/ppob-unavailable-fixed-49.39475/post-760004
  4. Looking for a solution -- FCSP started charging at reduced amperage at about 60 amps rather than the usual 80 amps.

Oh yea I think I read a few posts about various issues using Tesla EVSE with Lightning, and vice versa
  5. Looking for a solution -- FCSP started charging at reduced amperage at about 60 amps rather than the usual 80 amps.

There is a Ford Charge Station Pro specific setting in the FCSP setup app for setting the max charge amperage. So that was what was referred to regarding an app setting. Using a different brand EVSE should default to the max the truck can handle which if you have a 2022-2023 ER (maybe some...
  6. Unable to open Tailgate Fix-#3

Yes, but even the manual releases can fail, my 2001 Ford Ranger 'suicide' door latch eventually failed - plastic parts. Of course it was about 20 years old when that happened. The Frunk is always in the back of my mind when I open or close it - will it unlatch/latch I think - even though it has...
  7. 8 modules being replaced - why wouldn't they replace the entire pack?

I get it. Not questioning the title and/or your logic. I was just questioning all the posts that raise issues about the number of modules, and the validity of the repair, that kind of surprised me. Well warranty work is different from a car crash where a 3rd party, the insurance company, will...
  8. Dead tail light… no warnings on dash?

Some folks have added a small drain hole at the bottom of the tail lights although some safety inspectors might have a problem with it if they saw it.
  9. Unable to open Tailgate Fix-#3

PS: Third 12v battery eh? A larger battery might last longer, but even a larger battery will go bye bye someday. But if you want to extend the lifespan of the larger battery, or any lead-acid 12v battery, use a battery maintainer with an AGM mode like the NOCO Genius1...plenty of posts about...
  10. 2024 lightning flash shutting down wrong and goes completely dead for 3 minutes

Starting the truck - booting the computers - needs adequate 12v battery juice (energy), and trouble starting up is usually a weak 12v battery. The delay and then starting up is likely the truck transferring energy from the HVB to the 12v battery. Having had a similar issue with my 2012 Leaf a...
  11. Unable to open Tailgate Fix-#3

Yes, there are a few connectors that can be affected by weather under the truck, and several forum posts about them causing problems. Look under the rear end at the wiring for the PPOB and the bed lights (if you have them - I added them to my Pro along with the switch) for example. I always...
  12. 8 modules being replaced - why wouldn't they replace the entire pack?

Certainly get the report as a matter of transparency. There is some level/tolerance of cell/module degradation that necessitates the replacement, and the report will show that. If the dealership was replacing modules to somehow try to get more money from Ford for the warranty work I'd be...
  13. Frunk Won't Close - Frunk System Fault Service Required

I hear ya. I hold my breath every time I close it wondering if it will successfully latch. I would have been happy with a manual closing frunk like a hood or hatchback or trunk. It has been an issue for some owners...sometimes it's a weak or dead 12v battery. There is the manual latch pull to...
  14. Clunk from rear drive, need comparison please

Yea when I looked for reports of the 'clunk' sound in Lightnings it suggested that some owners had noticed it and if it wasn't 'loud' then it was normal...not exactly definitive or precise 'loud' is somewhat indefinite and very subjective. And compared to some of the 'clunkers' Ive driven in...
  15. Frunk Won't Close - Frunk System Fault Service Required

Just replacing a fuse will likely not solve the underlying problem that caused the first fuse to blow - they don't generally blow for no reason.
  16. Clunk from rear drive, need comparison please

Maybe that is what 'normal' sounds like in the Lightning? Does it clunk when accelerating/decelerating or going from drive to slowing down engaging the regen? If not noticeably loud then I guess normal/no issue. There have been a few rear drive train problems reported on the forum and...
  17. 8 modules being replaced - why wouldn't they replace the entire pack?

I wouldn't argue with them about it if it is still under warranty, let them replace 8. The other posting from FB went from 8 to 5. Why would anyone NOT want them to replace any number of modules or care if they say 8 or 5 are bad? I don't see the point unless it was coming out of your own...
  18. Looking for a solution -- FCSP started charging at reduced amperage at about 60 amps rather than the usual 80 amps.

The failures have been the "SOBDM." Secondary On-board Diagnostic Module A (simply SOBDM) does the AC-DC charging up to 48 amps. 2022 and 2023 ER trucks have an additional module (GFM2) that works in conjunction with the SOBDM to achieve 80A charging.
  19. Not charging on J1772

Seems like there have been several SOBDM failures reported recently. As other posts have noted: the SOBDM (Secondary On-board Diagnostic Module A) does the AC-DC charging up to 48 amps. If you have a 2022 or 2023 with the ER battery, there is an additional module (GFM2) that works in...
  20. 8 modules being replaced - why wouldn't they replace the entire pack?

The HV junction box is in there for example.
