Hey all!
So as most of us, I can’t leave my beautiful truck stock for long. I have installed a nice leveling kit and am now looking into wheels and tires. As my truck is a Lariat it has the 20” wheels which are nice but not my jam. I would love to bring it down to 17” wheels and about pulled the trigger seeing that those out there have done it with success! My confusion is that with further research, the ICE F150s with max trailer tow package have larger rear rotors and am seeing mixed results from these folks on fitting 17s. Some say it has worked others say not gonna happen. To any of y’all out there that have put 17s on, do you have the max trailer tow package? What offsets were you successful with?

Thanks all in advance

I seem to remember something about 22-in tires and mileage per kw hour savings.

I can't say I've seen a proper fitting 17-inch wheel that works.

There are models that will slide over the brakes, but there is less than 1/4" clearance towards the barrel of the wheel. The issue with this, is that once wheel weights are affixed to the wheel (on the barrel) they will make contact with the brakes when the wheel is spun.

Hopefully others can chime in with their personal experience.

Ford Raptor takeoffs fit without issue. Among others.

I've seen that fitment, but if memory serves me correctly, I believe spacer adapters were needed.

Thanks for the input!
I’ve got a set of methods that fit! As you stated it’s a tight fit bit but no issues so far.

I have 17 inch icons that seem to be fine today.

Just commented on your recent thread, new combo looks great!

Do you have the max tow package?

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to throw my situation in the mix:
this past weekend I installed:
  • 17”x8.5” Anthem Off-road wheels with offset of “0”
  • 285/75R17 Nitto Recon Grapplers (34”OD)
  • 2.3” offset leveling kit from stage3motorsports
Truck is a Lariat ER with Max Tow Package

I have NO fitment issues, NO rubbing. I did not have to cut anything, and my speedometer shows 69 when gps shows 70. Running 60 PSI currently (80psi is the tire max rating) and the ride is almost like it was when I had the stock 20” wheels and 265/60R20 tires. a tad bit rougher but not bad at all to be honest. I was at 42 psi and the ride was a little more cushion-y but the range seems worse. I don’t have enough miles to tell you the range i’m getting but seems like i’m at about 1.9 kwh with mostly highway use (70 mph)

What difference does the max tow package make here, vs not having it?

Probably nothing. But the ICE trucks have larger rear brakes with their Max Tow package.

Like pioneer said, max tow on BOTH ICE and lightning have larger rear calipers and rotors
