Super exciting! Where is yours headed and did they say how long it would take to get to the dealership?
They did not say how long. They said it could be picked up tomorrow, or up to a couple of weeks to get to dealership. They know about the 12/31 deadline. It’s headed just across the border to Carson City, NV.

You will definitely get yours sooner. I commute from Tahoe to Concord twice a week in my Lightning. Absolutely love it. I wonder if my dad and I will be the first Father / Son owners?🤔

Just in case it's helpful: Ford Marketing can confirm MY23 Transition Price Protection. To ensure you get to FM when calling, do not respond to automated voice prompts. Just stay on the line. As previously noted, FM cannot see or help resolve issues with 2nd October price increase and associated protection. As our friend in San Diego might have done, you've got to go to your dealership's GM . . . and ask them to work out the details with Ford. Still pending, here. Continued good luck!

Another week. Another batch of deliveries. There are 12 of you left, which puts you at 33% delivered. Sad to see that 4 of you have yet to move out of production but maybe we can change that this week!

Sadly, still "in production" since 10/31. Praying for a Christmas miracle at this point!

For what it's worth, my delivery date ramped up to the end of the month, then dropped way back down...my truck was delivered within 4 days of the ramp down.

My guess is it arrives at the dealer in the next 4 days.

I was too excited...I drove by the dealer and caught a sneak peak.

I finalize tomorrow (assuming no issues with price), and it's already scheduled to get tinted on Wednesday!

I bought OEM Running Board takeoffs from Ebay for $200. I also found a Gator soft tri-fold tonneau for $160 (open box), couldn't pass that up even if it isn't exactly what I wanted.

Too bad it's the middle of December and not May...installing all my accessories will be cold.

Picked up my wife's Pro yesterday. I got the $7K private offer, but failed to the get 2023 price protection. My dealer promises that they'll hand over that $5K if they see it in the 60-90 days that folks are talking about but they promise that they can't see it in their system and their district sales manager (East Coast) knows nothing about it.

So far, so good in what is relatively mild weather in Maine for December. It is a few inches taller than our 2020 XLT so the first time in the garage made me pretty nervous.

We'll be adding a tonneau cover, running boards, and I'll start looking around to see how much it will cost to add the ability to raise the seat height -- it's ok but just a bit low for us.

Overall impressions:

Seats: it is really hard for me to tell the difference between our vinyl seats and leather in another vehicle we have. They are stitched nice and tight and seem to have great initial quality. I was impressed with that.

Drive: nice mix of being super familiar with our old F-150 but also modern and fun. The acceleration as mentioned many times by others is really, really amazing. We're going to commit to one-pedal driving and so far it seems really easy and not too extreme.

Tech/features: it is extremely well equipped for a base level truck. I can't think of anything missing.

Vinyl floors: Sure they give it a little bit of a cheap feeling, but we always cover our carpeted floors with aftermarket plastic mats, so that seems a bit more like a feature than a drawback.

Ford: I am very frustrated by the poor communication about the $5k that we should have gotten. I don't love working with dealers, but I understand their impact on our local economies (various dealers here in town donate to a lot of things that I care about, for example, and pay pretty hefty property taxes). So, I'll direct most of my anger at Ford for this. Also the truck was ordered with a spray-in bedliner and that was on the window sticker (not cancelled) but it came without. Not a big deal since the dealer is going to add it at no cost and bill Ford, AND perhaps it helped me get my truck faster.

Overall: We'll enjoy driving the "unicorn" of an electric pickup that should have been just over $40,000 and ended up being just over $45,000 pre-tax break and see where it goes from here.

Ford does vinyl really well! I have a 2015 F150 Xl fleet truck that is our Vermont winter beater, and the vinyl seating is as nice as anything. Same with the floors. The winters are so nasty in VT, that we usually leave the winter mats in all year round anyway.

Its super frustrating... This whole experience has been super frustrating for nearly all the customers and the dealers too (I know several local Ford dealers fairly well, many of them feel in the dark as well). Personally, I find nothing wrong with the dealer model, its worked for over a century and I think we're seeing the schizoid results of the manufacturer trying to have a direct relationship with the customer and also let the dealer have a relationship with the customer. The right hand and left hand don't know what the other is doing.

I think we're seeing the result of that century's worth of distrust between the dealers, manufacturers and customers bubble up. Most dealers are much much much better than they were 40 years ago, but the customers are still so suspicious, and the manufacturers all think they're supposed to be Tesla now, which is dumb. Tesla isn't even good at dealing with their field and large customer base. Its a challenging problem, and Ford is trying, but stumbling over themselves.... This whole Pro "price protection" thing is a good example. How can something that consequential to that many customers be so opaque to the entire dealer body and their manufacturer support system?

All in all, if you get the federal tax break, its still a killer deal on an electric truck. Even without the price protection really....

Since the online purchase mechanism reflects pricing before the October price increase, I thought that process might be the solution; but Ford just confirmed that application of price protection still depends on dealer implementation, even if you use the Online Purchase option. Ugh.

Truck arrived in Richmond, CA last night. So, still waiting on response from dealership GM/Team . . .

Yeah, its interesting to observe this whole dealer/manufacturer/customer dynamic. Our expectations of what online ordering means as consumers, and what it seems to mean in the car industry at the moment at least, are simply not the same thing.

Ford has done an ok job of giving the appearance of direct ordering to their actual end customers, but organizationally, it doesn't appear they are managing the company that way internally and down through the dealers.

The Lightning process is far more obtuse than even the Mach E process was. I can get my head around the extraordinary demand for the Lightning taking them by surprise, and all sorts of operational assumptions being broken inside the company, but they could at least have made their online channels way more transparent and kept their dealer body more up to date. Maybe they've tried, we don't know for sure, but there seems to be a ton of confusion up and down the distribution side of Ford when it comes to these crazy electric trucks and cars.

The tracker app hasn't updated for me in about a week. Is everyone seeing the same thing? Or does it do that when the truck goes to the "built" status? Other ideas?
