Nice it will work on the Powerboost!

I wonder what the power increase will be on powerboost.
Slim to nothing would be my guess. It basically uses the same intake, changes the tube, and changes the filter. You may get more noise out of it though. At least that’s what it seemed on the 5.0 video I watched.

So really it comes down to paying for the noise coolness factor? All the research i did so far reiterates this same point.

NA engines benefit more from true cold air intakes, closed intakes. Modern Turbo engines do just fine with open intakes as the turbos will heat the air up, and the intercoolers will cool it down. AFE is the only manufacturer who posts their dynos, 20hp all day long, and what I'm installing on my 3.5.

I had AFE on my R35 GT-R and loved it

Hey there. How much is it for a 21 2.7 ecoboost lariat?
You can buy direct from Roush for about $430 and free shipping. They list nothing about a HP gain so I would guess there is next to none, otherwise they would hype it up. Why is it such a secret that this guy advertising them here wont list a price, tells me he is not cheap.

They are $410 on our website with free shipping as well and I also offer discounts for forum members. So theres that.

There are also things called minimum advertised price, not allowing companies to advertise prices below a certain amount. Being in the business as long as we have we like to keep our relationships with suppliers in tact.

Don’t know about other people on this forum, but I appreciate you Frank and the discounts you give us forum members. Just recently installed a bilstein 5100 kit I bought from you guys and I’m loving it!

I understand the price, and the discount, it is it going to give me any more than stop HP/TQ?

I stopped putting stickers on my car to look cool a long time ago****

WAIT!!! This fool never put no stickers on his vehicles! I don’t put things that look pretty and don’t do anything on my vehicle (thanks my ex) anymore.

Does it help on the dyno or not? Stage3 I’m asking you please?

There's a video in another thread from Mr.Boom5.0 showing an approximate 12-15hp gain (on 5.0) on the dyno from just a PMAS cai.
https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/pmas-cold-air-intake-install.3540/

Its not a massive gain by any means, but dollar for dollar its a worthy add, especially considering that its without a tune.
For some, the added sound which mentally connects one to the vehicle is enough to justify the purchase price regardless of performance increases. Same goes for aftermarket exhaust. Personally I have a PMAS cai sitting in the garage awaiting my trucks arrival and I plan on replacing the exhaust purely for the sound and plan to run E85 because there is a .50 cent gap between E85 and 87 octane and a 1.05 gap between E85 and 93 octane. So I'll pick up MAYBE 15-25hp between the cai, exhaust, and E85 without tunes being available. But to me it will be worth the cost of the cai and exhaust for the sound alone. And based on my bench calculations of estimated mpg and cost per gallon I'll be saving money by going E85. I'll put that to the test once the truck arrives however.
