Hi.
I’ve noticed now that it’s getting cold, the heat in my 2024 lariat is not great. I am often cold. I have to really blast the heat to get the cabin to feel warm, and then when I put it back on auto, it gets cold again. I am in the Pacific Northwest, and so by cold I only mean 40 to 45° Fahrenheit.

I first thought that maybe it was because there are so many windows and the cabinet is big. Then I noticed online that other people are having a similar issue. Note that I have a Mach E as well, and that car has no issues whatsoever.

I am currently traveling and rented a lightning (I like feeling like I am at home.),, so I guess I will test the heat this morning to see whether it is the same as my lightning.

The 2024 has a heat pump, so I would assume that the heat would be better and not worse. Any thoughts?

I sent a DM. It would be great to know whether anyone else with a ‘24 is having a similar experience.

I wasn't sure if it was just me or a quirk of the car, but I did notice that my foot vents don't seem to be as warm as I think they should be when on Auto. I usually set the fan speed myself to level 1 or 2 and that seems to work much better. 2024 Lariat in Canada.

Not saying this is your issue, but realize heat pumps are considered 'cool heat' with the hot air it produces being in the 85-92F range, not nearly as hot as the air coming off the engine of a car, or even the temperature of the air from a resistive heater.

I would put a thermometer in front of your vents and see what the air temp is. I know when I moved from a house with gas heat to my current house with a heat pump, there was quite a difference in what the heat felt like.

What temperature do you have it set to?

My truck doesn't have a heat pump so apples to oranges, but I find 74° in Auto to be comfortable on a cool, cloudy day. On a cool sunny day I usually set between 66° and 68°. I also usually have heated seats on level 2 since I tend to run cold.

I've been using my heater occasionally from just above 0-degrees C up to 10-C and have found that the air coming through the vents to be warm. Sometimes there would be periods where the heat supplied would cool down for a period and then heat up again. Mind you, I usually run the heater between 18 to 20-degrees C.

Thanks for all of the replies. My rental seems to heat just fine. I need to set my car to 76 degrees for the front vents to feel warm. Even then the warm fades

Are you comfortable when it's set to 76°? If you are just use 76°. If not use something else.

Is your rental a 24?

As mentioned above, that warms it for a bit and then everything cools.

I know the heat pump is more efficient but I’m not sorry I got my 23 lariat er. Dual chargers stupid cheap deal on it and the resistive heater. When we turn on the heat it is really hot!

Is it a doom loop? Like, when it cools, you turn it up a degree or two, after awhile it gets cold again so you turn it up again until you are at Max heat and cold?

Not quite that extreme. But close.

I have a 2024 lariat and i set my heat to 74 and it’s nice and toasty ins few mins even when it’s 40* cold sac morning. The heat pump does it thing for like 2-3 mins then the auto fan goes up to speed. You got an issue with your heater b.
