Towing with 1500-2000 lb tear drop camper.

I have a 2021 F150 limited hybrid my question is when towing a small lightweight teardrop camper should I still be in tow haul mode? When hooking up a trailer does the truck automatically go into tow haul, and with that small and light camper what are the advantages and disadvantages if any (mpg?) with being in tow haul.

One thing that annoyed me about my explorer is that it did not automatically go into tow mode when the trailer was connected. Seems like an easy thing to detect that something was connected. I don’t know about the F150, but the explorer in tow mode would use the engine for brake assist, I believe that was the biggest difference. Because of that you can expect lower MPG for sure.
