New guy here. I found some great info on other threads and rather than resurrecting an old one, I thought I would add this one. I have no relation to Bob's but bought what the site recommended and it really was plug and play. All you need is a Torx T-30 to get the old mirror off the windshield, unplug the old mirror in back with your finger and plug the OEM wiring that was plugged into the OEM mirror into the wire on the new mirror: this

NEW Advent/Gentex Frameless Auto Dim Rear View Mirror w/Homelink® V5 & Homelink® Connect Plug & Play for 2011-2024 Ford F150
Optional - Select the wire cover for your mirror kit:: No Wire Cover Needed
OPTIONAL-Do you need a windshield mounting kit?: No windshield mounting kit needed

Product ID: 100257

Homelink works great and the autodim in the mirror also still works. The only downside other than the $260+/-is that you have a few extra inches of wire and the plug to ziptie out of the way.

Yes! This is my favorite mod. I put this same mirror on my XLT and swapped it over to my Flash when I traded. Super easy install.

Ah...

Would the OEM ones not work? Not sure if this is 'plug and play' like it says? https://www.ebay.com/itm/335636257562
I’m sure it’ll work since it’s the same model, but it won’t be as clean of an install since you’ll have to splice wires and you’ll need to wrap the wire bundle to maintain the OEM look. Plus there’s more risk of damaging something.

I’d recommend spending the extra to get the one made specifically for the F-150.

Can you take a pic of what the frameless mirror looks like in your truck? Looking through it looks like you can get the framed ones (like the ebay link) for like $50-60, some with the compass. I'm not afraid of building out my own harness, so probably worth the $200 savings to me... just curious how the frameless looks and whether I would like that better.

I looked into all of this and decided in my case this wasn't the right road to go down for me.

I found the Meross garage door opener add-on (Amazon) hooks up nicely with the existing Ford voice integration button (Siri in my case) on the Lightning steering wheel or by just talking out loud to CarPlay and it also gives me the same capability from my Chevy Bolt, my BMW motorcycle, from inside the house via HomePods, and remotely as well via my iPhone. Total cost $38.00 !!! I used to have a self installed LiftMaster/Chamberlain MyQ on my previous house and hooked up at that time to my Ford ICE pickup, it was just OK, the Meross device is a giant leap forward in price and installation simplicity. YMMV.

"Hey Siri, Open the garage door", the future is here!!!

I'm all in on this but the disclaimer on the website concerns me:

***Not for vehicles with a forward-facing auto-high beam, lane departure, or other type of camera mounted on the mirror bracket or for vehicles that have "COMPASS" or "RVD/COMPASS" on the back of the mirror housing.***

The Flash has the auto-high beam feature and lane departure features. Isn't this an issue?

The important part of that statement is “mounted on the mirror bracket”. Our trucks don’t have anything mounted on the mirror because there is a separate sensor array for the auto high beams.

haha, thats my listing for a mirror I sold, it was plug and play with an adapter bought from bobs mirrors. I just wanted a blue compass instead of orange so I bought another mirror and another adapter.

Nope, the stock mirror on the 2024 Flash does not have an attached camera. those features use another camera.

Good info. I have a Meross opener but have never used the voice activated integration. My truck has an opener but it has poor range and I'm impatient.

For those without a built in opener have you explored adding the driver's side window shade with the buttons from an older vehicle? I would guess it's plug and play but I've done zero research so take that advice for what it is.

I got the frameless mirror as well from bobs, just wrapped the extra wire around the mount and plugged it in.
looked into the shade option but it required running a wire for powering the home link buttons and messing around with headliner/pillar plastics. I didn’t want to mess with that so the plug and play mirror was the way for me.
