I would not recommend it. WD-40 is not a contact cleaner.
What happens when you use 90% alcohol…?I use Deoxit D100 L micro brush, been using it on my camper plugs before I had an EV. I clean with a cotton swab and 91% rubbing alcohol.

This is a good one. I use it too. Key is NO RESIDUE.https://www.crcindustries.com/qd-electronic-cleaner/
I haven’t sprayed these on my truck socket but I’ve used these on my trailers 30/50A plugs and trailer to truck contacts. I keep it in my truck and have sprayed L2 chargers that show signs of corrosion when I’m on the road both NACS and J17722 never used it on a CCS.
DeOxIT leaves a protective residue. This should not be used for high current contacts - especially DCFC. It works wonders on low-power electronic circuits and I use it for that.DeOxyIt is the way to go for any type of electric contact cleaning, tiny to (relatively) large.
WD40 Specialist Contact cleaner is not standard WD40 and is specially formulated as a contact cleaner. I have not used it for this purpose but it states that it leaves no residue, which should be ok for cleaning the port and gun contacts.I would not recommend it. WD-40 is not a contact cleaner.
