Well my pristine 22 Silver Blue Metallic Lariat @ 28,000 miles is severely damaged.

In the fast lane and following a truck in front of me, he whipped out of the lane exposing a slow moving highway safety truck in the lane. I swerved right, the safety truck swerved left, and we met at the corner of his flatbed and my front fender. This resulted in scraping the fender and charge door, tearing away the mirror with mount, and door handle, then ripping a 8" wide strip along the driver and passenger door, crushing the C pillar (maximum impact at this point), and the bed all the way to the taillight.

The rear wheel well is really high off the tire, and I think the rear suspension might be bent as that tire heated up and it felt like I was crabbing (a bit) as I drove 30 minutes to our thanksgiving destination. Everything else seems fine.

Can the C Pillar be repaired, and if so does the rest of the damage (Fender, charge port door, mirror and mount, drivers door skin and handle, entire passenger door and window, side of bed, toe-link, control arm, shock, taillight) likely to result in it being totaled?

Can anyone recommend a quality body shop in or around North Seattle?

I'm not an expert but depending on the severity of the damage to the C pillar in guessing the cab needs to be replaced.

Sadly, it sounds like it may be totaled with today’s high cost of repairs.

Your insurance company can recommend a body shop.

Would need pictures, but anything that compromises the truck rigidity or safety is usually considered a total loss. You might be be to repair or replace, but it will never be the same.

Even the check in person at the body shop said it was likely totaled. Think I am going to get something smaller and more nimble...

Glad you are OK. Looking at the pictures, it looks like they took a can opener to your truck.

Front door, mirror, door handles, rear door, fender, bodyside, DOP to cut the section out that you need. That's going to be a pricy repair.

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes.

An update: The $25,000 bill is at 85% of the totaling threshold so it could go either way, and they have yet to add any suspension work as they failed to note that I reported it was crabbing. My tire must have hit the tire of the other truck, and at speed I am concerned that it would be much more than just a tie-rod. Once they add that repair it might just tip the balance.

Does anyone have experience with a claim of this size on a Lariat?

They are going to repair the fender somehow. When they replace a section of C-Pillar is there anything I should look out for? I am concerned about the moon-roof and wind and rain sealing around both left side doors.

Remember to record the "diminished value" for this vehicle... however this process works in Your state.

Your moonroof shouldn't be affected. I can't see all the damage, but they shouldn't be replacing the whole DOP. Just cutting out the damaged part and welding in the patch panel. Just look the gaps over before you accept delivery.

If the damage to the suspension is minor I would think your insurance company will fix Your lightning. I think you will find that the body shop will replace both doors the front fender and the bed side. They should also be able to get the c piller parts from Ford as well. I found out this summer that the insurance companies in my area will write the vehicle off if the cost of repairs is greater than 75% of the current market value of the vehicle. Good luck with your claim!

I find it hard to believe the ACV is approx $30K when I see other similarly equipped 2022 trucks going for between $40K and $50K.
