No matter what you think about electric power applications on the water—and it’s a polarizing subject to be sure—videos that chronicle smart people pushing the limits make for compelling stories. And that is the perfect description for a new Scrapyard Media documentary about a group of University of Michigan engineering students who attempted to do just that will an electric-powered, canopied catamaran during the 2025 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.
Presented by Skater Powerboats and Mercury Racing, 37-minute video goes live today at ?? on the Speed On The Water YouTube channel.
The project, which targeted the record 114-mph set by an electric boat built by an ambitious team from Princeton University, began 2019. And the story of a group of brilliant college students working with the likes of Skater Powerboats and Liberator Boats is mesmerizing and inspiring from start to finish.
It’s all about pushing the limits And watching brilliant minds unleashed.
Produced by Scrapyard Media.
