Does my Flash have walk away lock with the fob?

I read some posts about owners walking away from the truck and it auto locking. I tested it out by walking across the street into another neighbors home, and came back the truck was still unlocked. Am I just blind in the settings or is this just something I don't have? 2025 Flash 312a.

Not an issue to manually hit the lock button on the door handle, which is a habit of mine but I was like well, that would be nice and reassuring to just walk away and lock.

No, it doesn't have it. You can use FORScan to enable it though. Threads on this.

Or be glad that it doesn't. One of the "features" that I specifically did not want. That goes along with auto unlock when I get close enough. The unlock when I grab the door handle works great (I have that set to drivers door only). If I have passengers that also need in, I can either open the drivers door and push the button, or as I approach reach into my pocket and hit the unlock on the fob by feel.

There is no "auto unlock" as you think about it. Auto Unlock is a feature that when you open the driver's door, it unlocks all the other doors.

What you describe is as your fob or PaaK is within correct distance of the vehicle, it allows you to open the doors when you put your hand around the handle. They haven't "unlocked", and it won't allow someone on the other side of the vehicle to open the door.

Yeah my wife's Hyundai will unlock and unfold the mirrors as I approach. But not the Lightning. As Rick says, you have to touch the inside of the door handle for the magic to happen.

The unlock by grabbing the handle with the fob in my pocket works great and i how I normally get into the truck. I would not want to have the truck unlock every time I sit down in my living room recliner - about 10 feet from the truck.

I had to enable it. It was in the display menu, not using Forscan.

The 2025 Flash, like mine, had WAL when I bought it. A OTA "software "update" in late 2025 made it disappear. Months ago @Ford Motor Company (Brian, not AI) ask for my VIN# to look at what happened to make it "disappear".
I've got "crickets" from Ford so far, and I'm not willing to buy and OBD II cable and load russian software (FORScan) on my computer to fix something I've already paid Ford Motor Company for.
Am I annoyed??

Bought my 25 Flash used with 4k miles on it about a year ago and it has always had the walk away lock working like a charm. Strange to hear others have issue with it with 24 & 25’s.

You wouldn't have to be annoyed if you accepted the reality that Ford already has your money and doesn't care about you anymore. Just buy a OBD2 cable, Forscan, and fix it yourself.

My 25 flash has walk away lock and unlock when I approach it. I used Forescan to disable the double honk when walking away

My 24 Flash has walk away locking feature and walk up unlock(touch either front door handle).

I bought my 25 flash (job 1) new and it had WAL from the factory. It still works, so if it disappeared from settings I wouldn't know it.

Same here on my 2025 Job 1 Flash.

I just wish the rear door handles had the same sensors as the front.
