Just got notice from Auto Club So Cal (AAA/ACSC) about a discount for EVGo.

I added to my EVGo AutoCharge + feature (just plug and charge - no app needed).

I am in their plain "Pay As you Go" member.

With AAA/ACSC I am saving $1 per charge session!

Rates have now come down to $0.42/kWH without the session charges.

For me, it's cheaper now to use EVGo with better experiences than the awful EA network.....

How did you get the AAA rate? Never mind, logged into AAA and found it. Thanks for letting us now as I never got anything from them regarding this.

Maybe I've been lucky, but I can only remember one time I couldn't charge at an EA location.

Also, EA with Pass+ is .36 per kWh in California.

Edit to add the AAA discount for EVGo worked for me here in NorCal too - thanks for the tip.

@metroshot the EVgo experience is so much better than EA. Out of habit yesterday needed a charge in Valencia area, EA chargers had a line, right across street 6 open EA chargers a they were per minute chargers (which is first I’ve seen). Best charging experience I’ve had in almost year of ownership. That’s about as cheap as my off peak home rate (which is probably 80% of my charging). Thank you again for the AAA info.

Wow, agree - I love EVGo compared to the awful EA lines of free chargeups that other brands have clogged.

You got a great per kwh rate at $0.31.

Do you have the EVGO Plus or Max monthly subscription ??

I have the Pay as you Go w/ AAA and I pay $0.42 per kWh.

Just charged yesterday like I do every week now at EVGo.....

I have the EVgo basic (.99 a month), plus the AAA, but this is the first time I’ve charged and it was per minute, not per kW, so yeah, it was an incredible rate! Not sure if it was a promotion or something because the posted rates were normal SoCal rates. I’ll take it though 🤣.

I’ll keep you updated on my next charge and see if it was a fluke. I see a new EVgo station going in down the street from me. Now excited for that.

Wow.

I thought per minute is for certain states ?
I didn't know CA can charge by the minute.

I'd much prefer minute rates as it's cheaper than per kWh.....
