They better make that configurable or I am ripping that speaker out regardless of what error message comes up to try and convince me otherwise. I bought a damn EV for a reason, I want it silent.

If it's anything like the MME you should be able to disable the propulsion sound. The pedestrian warning sound will throw an error if you just unplug it, but the aftermarket will likely take care of that as well. They already have one for the Powerboost.

Good thread on the sounds on the MachE here:

Yeah I will be paying whatever price for that aftermarket part that tricks the car to think there is a speaker plugged in.

I already have the aftermarket bypass for the pedestrian sound, hoping it works on the Lightning also.

You can turn the propulsion off on the settings screen, just like in the Mach-E.

It is OK - seems similar to the Mach-e sound. In our Mach-e I keep going back and forth between having it on and off. It is just a quick toggle on the screen so it is easy enough to change to fit your mood.

Pretty selfish to disable the pedestrian sound.
Yes people, keep in the sounds (low speed/reverse) otherwise clues of the car actually being active are gone... It's not safe. You're already driving a death machine given its weight and size.

Just use studded snow tires year round. No extra sounds required. (One more bad idea. I'm full of them).
Other alternatives:

Weld or bolt in a piece of scrap metal that drags on the ground when you drive

Put a generator in the bed and start it before you start driving anywhere

Keep you windows down and play the Immigrant song at max volume at all times!
