Sorry if this has been discussed before, but the truck is not updating its status on either the Ford App, or Ford.com website. The modem seems to still be working, since I can remotely control the locks, frunk, etc..
Any ideas?

Might need a reboot. If you have FORScan, reboot the GWM and TCU. If not, you can try disconnecting the negative cable fromt he 12v battery in the frunk for 20 minutes. You'd be surprised how many little quirks doing that can fix.

Had to go that route to fix mine a while back. Tried pulling fuses to no avail.

The truck uses Bluetooth for locks, frunk etc. It uses WIFI or Cellular for remote start and status updates. You likely need to restart your modem. The simplest, safest way is to pull Fuse 32 (Gateway) and replace it a minute later. This will reboot the modem and clear out the hung WIFI/cellular side.

In some cases the problem is deeper and the 12v reset works for that.

I too noticed the same issue recently. Assumed an app update broke it...

I refresh the Ford app by pulling the top of it down on the screen and holding it for a few seconds, and then it generally updates data (range est, HVB %SOC) but not always.

I can lock and unlock from anywhere my phone has service. It’s not BT.

True. PAAK uses NFC, so if you are standing by the truck, it will unlock when you grab the handle. App uses NFC for remote activation of the frunk and tailgate. If you are too far away, it will tell you that the remote controls are disconnected. Ford doesn't document this stuff, and it isn't easy to test.

The Gateway /Modem is used for WiFi Ford Pass and Bluecruise. When I start to lose Fordpass connection then I know I am about to lose Bluecruise as well. The home cure has been to disconnect the negative 12v battery terminal for 20 minutes. My truck has recently been experiencing the loss of WiFi connection more frequently and the time needed while the negative battery terminal disconnected to reset the Gateway/modem has been increasing. I reported this to my Ford service technician, who reviewed the online data from the truck, and Monday I will drop the truck off to have the Gateway/modem replaced.

How much will this cost?
I'm still having multiple issues often of missing connectivity. Nothing for sure fixes it, 12v reset or fuse pull don't fix it when I have the issue.
I think I need a modem replacement, but am out of warranty (looks like you are too, which is why I asked about cost)

On the advice of my service technician I bought the extended warranty, so it should be covered.

So you see a direct correlation to your connectivity with Blue Cruise? That's something that doesn't seem to be affected when I have problems... I will say it takes longer for the Blue Cruise activation to take affect when I'm having issues, but it still activates...

My biggest issues are not being able to cool off the cabin when it's been baking in the sun (kids and wife).
Let us know how the replacement goes...

Update on the Gateway/modem replacement on my ‘22 Lightning. I dropped the truck off Sunday evening at the dealer’s service department, and they began working on Monday morning. It took most of the day for them to diagnose the problem, replace the Gatewy (which was pretty well buried insi the vehicle, before programing, test driving, then additional diagnosis and programing. The bill did not specify the cost, but the service representative thought it was about $800 plus 4.5 hours labor, or approximately $1800 total. Since I have the extended service plan tfrom Ford (thank you Grainer Ford), my cost was only the $100 deductible.

The cost could have been more but the EV service technician at the dealership is extremely knowlege and competent. He was able to diagnose and solve issues in about a a third of the time a regular technician would have taken.

BlueCruise worked perfectly on the drive home and FordPass is working again.
