RIP EA

They did it to themselves. GM could not just stand by, especially with so many products around the corner.

VW is probably next…. Even with their current EA deal..

I wonder what types of cables the Pilot charge stations will have.

On behalf of Taxpayers: Can we please get our 5+ Billion of NEVI money returned now? We do not need to subsidize a soon to be defunct standard nor do we need to subsidize a company that has proven they are fully capable of deploying and monetizing chargers.

So, monopoly it is? It didn't work so hot with Standard Oil.

Although CCS1 is the only standard that met the regulatory definition at the time the IRA was passed, it didn't preclude NACS from becoming eligible.

Standard Oil was a monopoly. All the gas companies using the same size nozzle is a standard.

This only results in a monopoly if Tesla is the only charging company.

The reply was to the quoted post from @luebri

To withdraw NEVI funding for competitive charge point operators will result in a Tesla DC charging monopoly. NACS is an open standard and NEVI regulations can accommodate it.

I think Tesla has finally realized it’s not easy building a truck and will leave it to the big boys
Sounds like Wired is making a big deal of a ~four-year-old design. Consumer Reports now rates both Ford and Tesla vehicles as being below average reliability based on feedback surveys from their readers. So, I hope Tesla is not learning from the "big boys" (at least not Ford). In market capitalization, Tesla is certainly the big boy compared to Ford and GM ($603 billion compared to Ford's $56 billion and GM's $50 billion).

The real big boys are Apple ($2.46 trillion) and Microsoft ($2.49 trillion) with Alphabet (Google's parent company) at $1.5 trillion. Amazon trails at "only" $1.24 trillion.

https://www.wired.com/story/a-leaked-tesla-report-shows-the-cybertruck-had-basic-design-flaws/
I'm pretty sure Tesla can build a good truck. The leaked report talks about the Cybertruck's unique design that made it hard to keep NVH down. If they went more traditional design, it'll been fine.

Besides, the "Big boys", Ford is losing $60K average per EV sold, Rivian is losing over $280,000 per EV sold, No ones buying the GM Hummers, The Silverado EV isn't out yet and is expected to be over $100K. Only Tesla is making profit on EV sales.
