Glad you guys are here!

I am going to get ready to leverage the location near my house in south Denver, but want to double check with you on something.

I want to install the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires on my Lightning. They come in 275/65R20, and are originally spec'ed for the Rivian R1T. The tires are only slightly taller and the standard all seasons that come stock on the Lightning, but wanted to confirm that your team can install the tires on a Lariat lightning without any issues. I want a knobbier tire on my truck, but also a tire that is tuned for an EV.

Thanks in advance.

The store locator link in your welcome thread seems to be broken. FYI…

Interested to hear back on this. I have been looking for a replacement for the stock General A/S tires. My goal is something I can have on year round, improved performance in the snow, and less than 10% range loss. Haven't found anything yet...

Glad to be part of the community; thanks for the welcome and for giving us the opportunity to help with the new Lightning rubber!

Absolutely, the crew in S. Denver will install the R1T OE Scorpion All-Terrain Plus for you. This tire is properly load rated for your L, meets the rim width for the factory wheels, and the slightly taller diameter shouldn't be an issue in looking at the fitment specs

If we can help set up the order, please don't hesitate to shoot us a PM - we'll make sure you're taken care of.

Appreciate the heads up, Dave - link fixed (y)

What testing has been done on that tire regarding rolling resistance and noise?
I am not sure about official testing, but Rivian claimed a 40 mile (~13%) range reduction with it which seems to be mostly verified by reviewers.

The Discount Tire locations here in Tucson, AZ have been top notch. I've been to 3 of them and they all have outstanding service. It's great to see you here!

I am interested in the Nitto Recon Grappler in 285/55/r20 116T XL.
Can you get those?

I am hoping it is not that brutal of a range hit.

I recall Tom's holiday video where he drove his Lightning a shade over 200 miles in the New York cold with the BF Goodrich AT KO 2's. He had the heat on and those tires are not EV rated.

I am hoping more of a 8% to 10% range hit at worst for the Pirelli's.

If you go that route, I would love to hear your results. Interested in Tom's official range test with the KO2s as well. Loved those on my previous trucks.

Tom, I will keep you in the loop. I have a trip to Phoenix planned at the end of the month, and should be back home around the 4th or 5th of February. The tires are in stock at the Tirerack warehouse in Denver, so I will pick 5 since I want to see if I can fit one on the spare tire as well. I am not sure how much room is in the spare tire space, but hopefully there is enough room to put a full sized tire in there.

I will have the Discount Tire team install the tires on the truck and then we will see what happens. I want a tire that has a little more bite, a better look, but is also rated for an EV. Unfortunately, the Pirelli's are the only game in town for right now.
