How to Install Ford's OEM 360 Cameras and Front Parking Sensors on a Lightning -- DIY Writeup

I recently successfully installed the 360 cameras and front parking sensors on my 2023 Pro ER. As a simple way of giving back to this awesome community, I put together a Lightning-specific write-up in hopes that it will help others. You can find the write-up here:

@boggle Smart move. I never tow so when I bought my Lightning I didn’t care about the tow tech package, not realizing that that was the only way to get the 360 cameras. Lesson learned.

Though I will say I really enjoy this kind of stuff. Researching all this kinda became a hobby of mine.

The main thing I would like to do is figure out a way to record the OEM cameras. It is interesting that they have coax connections, so it may be possible to build some sort of recording box. The intent would be to record the cameras without interrupting any of the OEM function.

Would be neat, but I’m not sure if it is possible or not. All the cameras are coax except the third brake light camera, FYI.

Nice! when I got my no option PRO, the only two options that I really wanted was 360 camera and ACC. I have all the parts to do the ACC but haven't installed yet. Now I'll have to start collecting parts for the 360 camera and do it all at once. thanks !

You can't do it without some additional equipment because of the way the video is formatted for the SYNC system in the Lightning.

I think this thingamajig might work with some caveats can be use to input HDMI video from additional cameras, but capturing the car cameras I am not sure about from the description: cannot be done.

Aside from moving the existing coax cable (for the rear camera) from C242F Pin 2 and moving it to C242 E Pin 2, you leave it alone.

I guess not available on my 23 Lightning?
Or could I get a 24 or newer camera & then it would work?

Check with a Ford dealership, or go with an after-market security system if Ford can't do it (more likely).
