Can someone explain if the cellular connection that the truck uses for updates (connected services?), talking to FordPass, map and traffic updates, etc.. is free? Is it free for the life of the truck or just through the warranty period?

What about the 24/7 roadside assistance? How long does that last?

The cellular connection is used by features in the truck. You do not pay for the connection, unless you select a feature that has a monthly charge. Map and traffic updates are part of Ford Connected Navigation, which is a subscription. When it expires, you will be offered it for a fee. You can decline, and use the built-in navigation with no updates or traffic. If you log into your account on Ford.com you can see the expiration dates.

Ford Roadside Assistance is free for 5 years / 60,000 miles.

Thanks. I looked on Ford and it looks like:

- FordPass is free indefinitely???
- OTA updates is free, for how long???
- BlueOval Charge Network has no trial expiration date, maybe it starts the first time you use it??? (I'm not even sure why there would ever be a monthly fee since I just expect it to let me Plug & Charge with a credit card)

- BlueCruise is free for 3 years
- Connected BuiltIn Navigation is free for 3 years
- Alexa BuiltIn is free for 3 years

- FordStreaming is $10/mo (Amazon Music, Spotify, podcasts, etc.), no free trial, it also uses Alexa so not sure what happens when Alexa BuiltIn trial is over
- SiriusXM free trial is 3 months

How much is all of this stuff going to cost when all the trials run out?

Depends on what you want / need.

OTA updates is probably the only important feature for me.

I already subscribe to Sirius XM in all my vehicles no matter how old they get.

My old PHEV and BMW ran out of real time navigation and didn't renew so we use a connected cell phone using the phone as navigation.
