Lightning makes buzzing sound while charging.

Just went outside to check on my truck something I’ve never noticed before was occurring .

The truck is making a somewhat hi pitched buzzing sound . Charging started 13 minutes ago and it’s the coldest night I’ve ever charged during . Is this the truck warming the batteries before charging commences ? Probably Noob question here , but I’m at 14,000 miles now and nothing like this before .

yes, there are Inverters, Chargers, and even battery Heaters/Coolers that may operate and make 'sounds' while charging... you are converting 240v A/C power into high-Voltage D/C power - which takes a lot of work : )

Mine sometimes makes a buzzing sound while charging, almost always while pro power on board is working and sometimes while driving. It sounds like the ballast of a fluorescent light fixture. I just want to know if this is normal, of if something needs to be fixed?

That's what I was thinking, just wanted to make sure that all of these trucks buzz a little.

Not that sound. At normal driving speeds I have buzzing (usually once I have been driving for a few minutes). The buzzing is similar to the buzzing while charging/supplying 120V/240V power from the bed. I may need to drive another one to hear if mine is different. I have driven other EVs/plugins and the lightning is the only one that makes this sound. Our pedestrian sound is not bad and not particularly noticable. My humming ballast sound can be at any speed.

I have a slight humming inside of my truck when I turn the ignition on. Does anyone else have this? Will post video in a bit.

I'm not sure...it does it a lot of the time, but not always. I noticed it the first time when using the outlets in the bed. It also does it sometimes when plugged in charging.

Yup, in hot weather, the fan kicks in very harshly.

In cooler weather, the fans don't spin, but there is a buzz.
