Line X Spray Bedliner Color Match to Carbonized Gray

I got a color matched spray-in for the bed today and I’m very happy with it. Thought I’d share some photos for those who are thinking of getting the same thing done to their truck.

It looks better in person than in photos. It’ll be interesting to see if the color lightens as it dries or ages.

I did the same thing on my 2011 Lariat.

Nobody told me at the time that the color was literally only 'skin deep'. I thought the coating itself was infused with the color. I later learned after spraying out the bed with my pressure washer and noticing light brown 'stripes' that the color was sprayed on top of what looked like a light brown bed liner coating.

When I asked the shop about it they said..."Oh, didn't they warn you not to use a pressure washer?", to which I replied "Nobody told me anything except, Have a great day", when they handed me the keys.

So for the next four F-150s after that (and currently) I use a Bedrug.

I'm on my 3rd BedRug. Love it! It keeps things from moving around, dampens the sound, and it's great on the knees.

Brilliant! I remember reading about the different color options, but I never put 2 and 6 together to make 5. Oh well..my black will fade to carbonized grey on about 7 years.

Color matching costs about $500 over the standard spray in.

I was talking with the installer and she mentioned that some people with white trucks complain about the Line X right between the bed and the cab. Because of the contrast anything less than a perfect line is easily noticeable.
