Loud whirring sound, drivers side, for the first several minutes of truck being "on"

So it's hard to describe, I think it's the AC compressor, but essentially when I turn my truck on, I'm hearing a "whirrrrr" that's pretty significant, coming from basically just front-bottom-left side near the driver. It even is causing a bit of a vibration in the steering wheel. It stops making this noise after about a minute or two, and at no point does the truck appear to have anything wrong. Just a loud noise/vibration for a minute or two, then it's over.

I'm tempted to ask the dealer about this... but also wondering if this is just a "normal" sound that I can hear because the truck is otherwise so quiet.

2023 Lariat SR, less than 17k miles -- I'll note I got the truck used, so this is the first warm season I've used it in. I cannot tell if it's always made the noise/when it started/etc.

Have you checked to see if your ventilated drivers seat has come on? Mine has come on randomly when I start the truck and it takes me about 30 seconds t9 figure out what the noise is.

There are a couple of pumps involved with battery management, the glycol coolant circulator and the AC compressor, either could be active depending on temperature conditions, brand new they do make some noise.

If you can record a video/audio sample, we could compare with what is expected to be 'normal'

Have you checked to see if your ventilated drivers seat has come on? Mine has come on randomly when I start the truck and it takes me about 30 seconds t9 figure out what the noise is.

I use ventilated seats 99% of the time, and the noise persists regardless of if I enable or disable the ventilated seats. The only action I've ever taken to cause the noise to stop is cycling AC off and on, but given the timing of when it stops on it's own, I don't feel like this is great "data".

That sounds exactly like the buzzing noise I had on my truck. The kind people here helped a lot. It appears the valve was stuck open on one of the pumps. My noise didn't go away though until the dealer recharged the AC unit. Here is my thread. I have a video of the buzzing noise on page 1 so you can judge for yourself.

That's a bit louder than I've witnessed on my 2022 Lightning, could be the glycol pump or the issues mentioned in Kevins thread.

Bring it in for a look by a Ford technician.

Good idea.
I've never had that noise, and there have been some reports of valve failures causing pumps to work overtime in Lightnings.

The Ford techs may or may not know about that, so it is a good idea to mention it!

My 23 has made this noise when it’s first starting out and ac demand is max , not sure it’s quite that loud but it’s noticeable … no issues with the truck and it’s done that since new I feel.
