Love the summer range on my 22 SR

We have several discussions in other threads about the extremely optimistic range values.

My current 90% is at 310 miles, imputed to 100% it could show 344 miles on the ER HVB.

Also have a 22 SR Lariat, and in the almost 4 years of owning it, I've never seen that type of range. At times it would get into the high 240's the first summer I had it, but now the highest I see are mid 230's. Like Taxman stated, thats extremely optiimistic. As an aside, I love the name of your truck on the app.

It's not optimistic. I had a Prius 12 years ago so I know how to squeeze the miles out.

The last fill up I got 279.

And yes it's the biggest vehicle I've ever owned so the name fits.

Don't believe it!

I suspect Ford engineering just made this one up or something similar to give us owners false hope. I'm currently in Colorado on vacation, driving my '22 SR from Fort Worth TX. Leaving the house with 100% charge the "new" projected 265 mile range was just bullshit. Driving posted speed limits of 65-75 our efficiency was 1.9 (190 mile range) for the 880 mile drive here. That "new" projected efficiency of 2.6 is a fallacy. Why Ford did this is beyond me. But it is NOT real. We barely made it to our planned Amarillo charging stop with 4% SOC and a very tight sphincter. Texas has some charger deserts y'all!

On a positive note: the Tesla chargers located at some of the Bu-ee's are GREAT and spending the charge time wondering around the store is a fun way to spend 40 minutes.

It's reporting how you have been driving and it has no way to know how you will drive. Range is reduced if you punch a location in the Ford Nav that uses mostly freeway. Or at least it used to, I stopped using it in favor of Android Auto. The Nav gives the truck an idea on your intent and adjusts accordingly.

I've proven that my commute (when it isn't crazy hot) nets me 2.7mpk. That means max 100% charge is 2.7 * 131 = 353miles of range. It's not useless when I charge to 100% and see a number around 350miles. That lets me know that if I continue to drive like I normally do, I can achieve that range. As owners, we just need to recognize that when weather or driving habits change (like taking a road trip instead of normal city commuting), so too will our range. Learning by how much largely comes with experience.

If you use the Ford navigation, and put in the destination, once you start to drive it will adjust to a more reasonable projection.

Of course it has no idea that you are going to drive on the highway after driving locally... How could it? You've been on the forum for 3.5 years, you didn't know that 1.9 is what you should expect? I get 1.7 to 1.8 on the highway...
