In the last week I went on a short road trip with my truck and brought it in to have it serviced for the first time. I was happy with both experiences . Between the summer weather and the fact the biggest local gas station chain has started to add chargers, I didn't experience charging anixety on my trip. I got 2.2 mpkwh on 400 mostly highway miles. The truck picks up as faster or faster than anything else on the road and it rides extremely smooth. Having to fast charge messes up the equation, but on average I pay $.15 per kwh and get around 2 miles per kwh driving around. Gas costs 4 bucks a gallon where I am and an ICE truck gets around 20 miles per gallon. If you run the numbers I am going over 50 miles for the same 4 bucks the ICE guys pay to go 20.

As far as service goes, I was nervous because I have a little over 30,000 miles on it and I hadn't brought it in yet, but there are no problems. The battery hasn't lost any capacity and all 4 tires still have 8 or 9/32nds. The service guy says that the weight in the truck is distributed more evenly than an ICE truck so the tires tend to wear evenly. The cost to service the truck was $26 and they threw in a car wash. The same service for an ice truck would have been $225. I know because they sent me the anticipated invoice for an ICE F-150 when I scheduled the appointment. I wish more people would have given the lightning a chance becasue it is a really nice truck.
