I hate the add ons our natural gas does a lot of that. When you go to the grocery store they don’t add on for the transportation, handling, and use of the scale. It is part of doing business.

I was wondering about people’s price to charge your lightning at home?

What is your lowest rate per kilowatt?

I pay 14Ā¢ in British Columbia.
Utility charges roughly $0.18/kWh if I need to pull from it.
On solar it's $0.00/kWh.
With state generation incentives it's a total of -$0.15/kWh.
So total cost of charging while on solar is that I make $0.15/kWh....it's why I drive so much.

That's not including what the utility pays me for over generation, or federal incentives for installing the system, etc. Just pure generation/usage rates including any applicable service fees.

Eversouce is conveniently one of the our few gas suppliers (Yankee Gas) in the state as well. Definitely not a monopoly tho šŸ™ƒ

They screw most of NE, as seen here

Residential In Sioux Center, Iowa. 24 hr rates. No peak rates. They give a free 48amp charger so they can monitor when it is being used. Not too many EV's in colder country.
Summer (usage in June-September)$0.095 per kilowatt hour
Winter (usage in October-May)$0.083 per kilowatt hour

Puget Sound is 18.1Ā¢/ KwH, all-in.

I’ve got solar, but I built my system before the Lightning was announced, so it’s time for a capacity upgrade. Now to convince the municipality that I can do all the work myself….

These prices are making me cry. Paying a a flat $0.34 in MA when you add up all the fees and charges on the monthly electric bill. Working on adding some solar.
Looks like I'm the winner so far. $0.35/kWh... We try to charge up at public chargers ($0.28-$0.30 for 6kW charge speed). Charging at home is not cheaper in MA.
But they are switching us to a heat pump electric rate and claiming a 25% reduction. (Of course, they are vague about that, and only showed the one line item being reduced, so the actual bill reduction may only be 10%). But a reduction from ludicrous may bring it down to just a ridiculous rate. Plus the town's electric supply contract is changing in Jan, and our electric supply rate will go from 0.15 to 0.13. (With some decimals, I think the actual reduction is less than 1.5 cents. But less is better). We may be able to drive for less $$/mile than an ICE F150 come April once it heats up. Maybe. (We do about 1.5mi/kWh in winter, and 2.2mi/kWh in summer. After almost 12 months of ownership we're just barely at 1.9mi/kWh over 13000 miles)

and, I'd like to say that while some benefit from 'solar', it is still a very expensive proposition - whether you pay a higher-than-desired electric rate, or you pay a hefty bill to purchase and pay for and maintain 'solar', there is probably little difference, especially if you don't stay at that location for the next 20 years.
This depends on many factors, including local and regional government incentives. I installed my own solar system, and it immediately turned cash positive on startup with the incentives we have here. We received $5000 grant (paid for my time to install), we have an interest-free 10-year government loan to cover the components (no money out of my pocket and payments of $145/month), and it lowered my average monthly bill by over $225/month on average netting me $80/month improvement in cash flow. Even with our low rates here in Ontario, it was cash positive immediately. From April through September, my bill is $0 for usage, and excess solar is banked with my supplier. October through March, I use the banked amounts to offset the lower solar output. It is paying for itself.

$.035 kWh from 0000-0600 hours. $.08 most other times. I am on a measured plan, just avoid 1600-2000 hours. $.27/kWh.

We are lucky in Ontario with an Ultra Low Overnight plan at $0.039CAD/kWh. With distribution and taxes, it is just over $0.05CAD or around $0.036USD. Additionally, if we are signed up for environmental credits with certain EVSE providers like Grizzl-E, we can get $0.03/kWh back in rebates, which means we are actually paying between $0.02-$0.03CAD.

I’m in Manitoba. We do not have time of use. It’s currently $0.096 per kWh. That equates to about $0.07 cents usd.
