2.2 on the highway doing 80mph? Are you serious? Unless you're going downhill, that's pretty hard to do.

My lifetime is 1.7 or 1.8, and I do mid 70s at most.

When winter hits, you'll be doing much less too.
Guess we need to move to KS. I'm lucky to get 2.2 running 60. :cwl: About 1.8 @ 75. Being near sea level and in humidity hell here in SE NC seems to impact range.

A 100 kwh charge costs me $7.08.
Speaking of the cost to drive the Lightning, my lifetime average energy consumption including all overhead, conditioning and driving is 1.51 MPK {worst 0.8 to best 2.2}

100 kWh is currently costing me about $40.30 to go 151 miles or $0.2669 a mile
My old powerstroke diesel life time average was 15 mpg, fuel is currently $3.459/g or $0.2306 a mile

I still LOVE my Lightning the positive value of the truck outweigh the operational costs.

I'm still doing calculations. Being new at still only 3800 miles I take a picture of the dash before any charging and it does vary with our typical tropical storm force winds here. I made an excel spreadsheet for my trip to Texas but haven't updated it for any local driving yet.

I did a couple new calculations for recent trips.

Wichita at 187 miles (based upon my dash pictures) of which 84 is at 80 mph, 14 at 75 mph, 20 at 60 mph, and the rest local and it came out to 79% of 131 kwh = 103.49 kwh with an average of 1.80 miles per kwh. However when I look at the Ford app for the charge added to 100% it says I added 103 kwh for 230 miles which comes out to 2.23 miles per kwh.

Going out west on a state highway with 80+% at 65-68 mph and the rest local was 173 miles (based upon my dash pictures) and 69% of 131 kwh = 90.39 kwh with an average of 1.91 miles per kwh. The ford app says I charged 90 kwh for 176 miles which comes out to 2.47 miles per kwh.

Soooo what is the deal with the difference in the app? Thanks.

Getting ready to go down to the VA hospital in Wichita again and will report back on that.

I was wondering about people’s price to charge your lightning at home?

What is your lowest rate per kilowatt?

I pay 14¢ in British Columbia.
Aloha
I live on the island of Kauai Hawaii. This state is probably one of the most expensive in the nation. We pay upwards of 43 cents per kilowatt hour. Thank goodness I have a PV system which locks me in at around .25 cents per KWH. I'm semi retired so i charge at home only around 4 to 5 times a month. So i spend around $85 to $100 in Electricity. My 2007 Tundra was costing me around $360 per month

Typically get about 2.2 miles per KWH on the interstate at 80 mph but better on the state highway at 65.
What are you? A Tornado chaser??

The posted rate for SWLA is 0.12/kwh but after recovery, offset, etc fees its 0.125-0.14

This just sounds way too good to be true. Is this only the cost of the "energy charge"? I checked the rates for this plan (https://www.georgiapower.com/residential/understanding-your-bill.html) and it shows the cost breakdown that includes 11 different cost categories, of which energy charge is just one. Below is a screenshot of the costs. Can somebody with this plan give the overall cost per kwHr for a recent bill (not just the quoted energy charge)?

It’s a special rate plan that actually penalizes your use during prime time periods if you charge. Here is the document. They have had rebates in the past for chargers. I got a Siemens charger for free back in 2012 and the a Tesla charger in 2021.

Also a BC Lightning owner here ... don't forget that BC Hydro has a peak / off-peak rate plan available (if you opt-in) where your rates can vary:
  • peak: 4-9pm @ $0.1908/kWh
  • off-peak: 9-11pm @ $0.1408/kWh
  • overnight: 11pm-7am @ $0.0908/kWh
  • off-peak: 7am-4pm @ $0.1408/kWh
(These are my rates in the metro Vancouver area, may differ elsewhere in the province.)

We have our EVs scheduled to start charging at 11pm to save the $0.05/kWh over regular rates. I saved $38 on my September bill and $55 in October because of those discounts!

Based on our house with heat pump and other electrical items 14¢ flat is the cheapest I can get. The over night would make our total monthly go up. B.C. hydro has a calculator but hearing the other if we had the Georgia super rate at 2¢ it sure would make a difference.
