Hey guys, so I'm trying to use Pro Onboard's 7.2 to power my side panel with a transfer switch...however it only seems to work for about 30 seconds where it will feed the house, then it just slowly limits the amount of power (you even see it in the lights inside the house) until it goes down to zero watts being supplied.

It doesn't trip or anything and I've been using this same transfer switch with a generator for years so I don't know exactly what's going on...any ideas?

Are you sure it's doing the solid 7.2 to the house?

What it seems to be doing is not even supplying much of anything to the house...

It starts and peaks around 2 kw and then just drops until everything in the house loses power.

Heck, whatever it's doing caused my power bar to no longer function.

ProPower doesn't like a bonded neutral on the gas powered trucks. I can't see why the Lightning would be any different. That might be the issue.

Does your transfer switch isolate the neutral?

Ok. I would've thought that it simply wouldn't have worked if that was the issue and not power the house temporarily before going down... I'm not the one who did the installation but I'll find out!

I have the same question for my electrician when he comes to install my FCSP. I built my house 14 yrs ago and had him install a separate small sub panel as a Critical Load Panel with a manual transfer breaker. This arrangement is currently supplied via a portable generator feeding an exterior NEMA 14-50 receptacle. This forum has been a education for me on bonded v. neutral grounds. My guess is I’m going to have to upgrade to a new CLP that handle the bonded neutral feed from my forthcoming ER Lariat 😫
