I agree with the previous comment, this WAS a dealer installed recall. I had it done in like January of 2026 at the dealer.

Mine is a 2023 XLT SR and I was notified about this like in Dec/Jan?

Ha, I went to have it done by the dealer on June 19, 2026, sometime after I received the third letter from Ford about it saying it was now actually, really, available for my 2023 Lightning Pro, and 5 minutes after I got home after dropping it off, they called and said it had already been done over the air.

I never got the message the OP posted.
And it did not show up in any of my update records on the Ford web site or in the truck menu.

So how was I supposed to know it had already been installed?

It does now show up under 'Recalls' on the web site as completed.

Do you still see the recall active in your app? You wouldn't see it in your car since your dealer installed it via FDRS.

The dealer told me it was installed OTA when they checked the truck (with FDRS I presume).

I don;t recall that I ever saw it in the app - only had letters from Ford about it with a couple false starts - Ford April or May 2026 letter said the dealer was ready, dealer scheduled it, then called back to say not available yet for my truck.

Sweet. I've been putting off going to the dealer for this until something else came up. Needless to say after 40,000 miles my xlt er hasn't needed anything that I couldn't do myself (cabin filter, tire rotation, etc.). Happy to see this update coming.

Now that this update has completed the recall for it and the trailer module one have disappeared from the ford app. I only have the tailgate lightbar recall still active.
I had gone to the dealer 2 months ago to get those recalls taking care of. They could only do one recall according to them (the trailer module). They started the reverse light process again (they replaced it last year but now has water in it). Part is on back order. They also told me the parking module would take 8 hours , so I left. After that visit all 3 recalls were still active in ford app until today.
