After being one of the first trucks to "get" the first rear lightbar recall a couple of years ago, I spent a few months this year, as I think we all did, in the conditition where the re-recall had been issued and I'd received notice, but the notice said "you'll be notified when parts are available".

A few weeks ago I got notified again - parts available, bring it in to the dealer for the recall service. Which I did; they performed the inspection and found they did need replacement parts (evidently the key point of the inspection is to look for or at "metal fasteners" somewhere but if they are wrong they may need the whole lightbar -- if I understood the service advisor rightly) which were backordered until September 11.

The service advisor just let me know about an hour ago that the status on the required part had just changed from backordered to stop-sale. Sigh.

Anyone else experiencing this, or is it some strange glitch particular to my truck, or maybe to 2022s?

Wonder if the dealer has my part. It was supposed to be in at the beginning of August - but never got the call.

Mine was re-replaced at the end of July, I waited an extra day or two for it was all. Perhaps they ran out again. I would not be surprised if Ford under estimated the number of botched jobs. It's really hard to read instructions now-a-days.

If they'd run out of parts again I'd expect to see longer backorder dates, not a stop-sale! Hopefully they did not decide the replacement parts were bad; if they did, that'd mean some folks are headed for a re-re-recall...

Mine was replaced in August under the latest recall and the part did not take more than a few days to arrive to my dealer.

Note: I did wait until it actually failed (turned into an aquarium, and shortly thereafter the backup lights started flickering and failed), which I recommend everyone handle it that way and not do the pre-mature replacement. It may be coincidental but I did notice the failure within days after I had to saw up a tree that fell and loaded some pretty good size logs on the tailgate just to move 100' ft or so to the across the lot to the curb for city cleanup. With all the issues these light bars have had, loading any level of meaningful weight on the tailgates is probably a bad idea.

Interesting. I just got contacted by my service center to come in for the recall starting Sept 10th. I'll book an appointment soon and see what they say.

Took mine in for the recall on Monday. Dealer told me the parts were on backorder with no estimated availability. Probably went to “stop-sale” shortly afterwards. 🙁

Hahhhh, I've gotten the Recall-Recall work done in May ..... the work order was not documented correctly by the Technician, so they RE-RE-LOOK at the Lightbar to verify that was fixed correctly this last round, and the recall alert is STILL open on the alerts list, SMH!

That tracks - I took mine in last Tuesday, they did the other work and got to the light bar by Wednesday and ordered the parts which were showing BO until 9/11; earlier this week they had slipped to 9/18 and this morning I was told they were on stop-sale. If they went from indefinite backorder to stop-sale...ugh, smells like they found a problem, no good.

I called my service center after reading everyone's stop sale conversation. I didn't get confirmation about the stop sale.

I did get explained the process for the recall:

1) Inspect first. If no problem, then get sent along. If problem, then part gets ordered.

2) When ordering the part. The supplier might get backlogged with the number of requests and inventory is down to zero. Manufacturing the part will take more time.

Sounds like folks are stuck in limbo for #2.

Inspected last month. I have a fishbowl going on when it rains. They said I need it replaced and would let me know when parts are in. Told me they were due in a week… month ago….

So some confusion on my part: my truck needs *two* backordered parts, one for this recall and another for an unrelated repair (clockspring noise). It's the single use bolt for the clock spring repair that's "stop sale"; the light bar parts are showing varying backorder dates but are currently back to showing 9/11 per the service advisor I spoke to just now.

I reported my issues with this recall several weeks ago. After “miscommunication” concerning parts availability and the technician breaking a part during the repair, I finally got the recall resolved after five trips to the dealer. As I was driving away I discovered the rev braking warning still wasn’t working. Turns out the tech had not totally updated the software. The tech told me that this was the first rear lightbar recall that he had worked on. He also admitted that he really didn’t like electric vehicles. Doubt this attitude will change for most Ford dealerships and service departments.

Gotta love it that the "electric vehicle" gets blamed for his inability to install and properly configure a part that aside from its color and shape is exactly the same on Ford's best-selling gasoline/diesel powered vehicle.

To me, this just further illustrates how the dealership only model is broken and the direct to consumer model might be better. You get total buy in when the company owns the sales process. I say that, even though I'm a dealer in the watersports industry. However, a lot of the brands in my industry sell direct AND through dealers. Taking care of the customer is how you earn and keep business. The dealerships that don't want to support EVs, whether through sales OR the servicing, are going to find themselves with a problem soon. EV adoption is NOT going to slow down. In a sense, to borrow a quote from a favorite movie, it's "Get busy living or get busy dying."
