Hey Lightning Community!

My name is Sean McLaughlin.

I'm the Mach-E, Lightning, and Bronco Specialist here at the store. Most of my forum time has been spent on Bronco6G. Wanted to jump in to give our customers (and other Lightning Customers) another resource. Feel free to ask any questions about the process (which most of you know already), our store, or anything Lightning! My direct email at the store for EV related items is [email protected], you can always reach out there as well if you want an order update or have questions!

Okay to buy (Final signoff from corporate) has happened and they're supposedly in transit. Our units have not shipped yet. Visibility is showing Pending for the units we have built.

HI Sean,
Glad to have a dealer representation!

Can you share how many total 2022 Lightning allocations your store received ?

Of that number, how many were extended for MY'23 or cancelled or not heard from ?

We were asked not to share allocation numbers, but it's a small number relative to the # of reservations. Part of that is the short model year (approximately 5-6 Months). We had quite a few push to 2023, but I suspect that's because the desirable models were snapped up pretty early.

I get the sense that visiblity is not great right now on the status of the Lightnings, is that correct? Or is what you are seeing pretty typical at this point in the F150 order process.

Visibility is a bit behind on most models with all the supply chain and logistics issues. Ford published a b-roll that trucks were shipping, so I bet some dealers have them already, or will soon. Early production of a new model/model year always has some logistics issues that take some time to iron out. I expect to start seeing them 6-7 weeks after produced date, that usually drops down to about a month once production is in full swing, but Lightning has a lot more focus, so that may not be the case.

We'll be sending out a waved email blast once we have our demo, we expect to be overrun with customers wanting to drive it, so we have to pace it.

hi sean, i've bought from you guys before but can't recall, do you guys have a shop onsite that can handle minor aftermarket mods like leveling kits, wheels and tires, ceramic coat, etc.? i know some dealerships have performance and other such shops but not many.

i'm having hard time finding folks who'll even do alignments on the powerboost, with all the systems and sensors these days, it's going to be worse with lightning for sure. rather have work done at dealership.

We don't do it on site, we use a company based in Hollister for lifts/wheels/tires/etc.

A word of note for Lightning, it uses specific wheels to handle the weight of the truck, Ford told us at the preview to recommend sticking with Factory. I'd imagine the wheel companies will come up with something specific to Lightning.

Will lightning wheels be available for sale separately or we have to go aftermarket for 2450+ pound capacity wheels versus other Ford wheels? It is not a California issue, but some places get lots of snow and cold and like having snow tires on rims for easy/convenient changes.

Ford always sells wheels as a part, but they tend to be prohibitively expensive as individual units. I don't see Ford selling a wheel upgrade kit, but you never know. Ford is pushing accessories hard right now.
