Thanks so much for all the great discussion, everyone! I’ll be passing this feedback along to the product team.🥰🥰

The giveaway has ended, and the winner is: @RLXXI

Please DM me your name and email address so I can send the gift card to your inbox by this weekend. (Please make sure to send your info by December 1st, or the prize will be forfeited.)

It’s super interesting that almost everyone has brought up the short truck bed issue—some are even willing to sacrifice rear seat space for a longer bed, while others, especially those with kids, really don’t want to give up that back seat. This discussion has been really fun to follow, and I really appreciate everyone’s input.

Also, thanks to everyone who’s contributed to the discussion here! We’ll be passing along your product suggestions to our product team.
Look out for more fun and interesting topics in December—we’ve got some exciting stuff coming your way!

And if you're thinking about getting your truck protected this winter, think 3W floor mats! Now’s the best time to buy—check out our Amazon store, where you can save up to $55 on the mats! Don't forget to use the discount code: 3W3BFCM55

Hey folks—working on a real-world use study. If you use your truck bed regularly, what’s the most annoying part?
Your stories will help us broaden our product focus and actually solve problems the community cares about.🥰🥰🥰

Drop your story below (pics welcome!).

🎁 As a Thank-you gift: We’ll randomly pick one widely-agreed headache from the comments and send the poster a $100 gift card to use during the coming BFCM.

Appreciate any insights you can share—let’s turn this into a practical checklist for everyone. 👇

If you can, please include:
1. Truck make / model / year
2. Region & weather (AZ dust, PNW rain, Midwest snow, etc.)

💡Examples to spark ideas (not a checklist):
* Gear sliding/tipping (coolers, bins, toolboxes)
*Tie-down hassles (angles, locations, not enough points)
*Dust ingress on dirt roads
* Noise & rattle from accessories
* Surface wear (spray-in vs drop-in vs mats)
etc……

Can't wait to hear your story!

Agree about a longer bed, though that can be lived with...for me the 'most annoying' thing is the height of the bed.

That make it harder to load and unload things and makes my motorcycle ramp quite a bit steeper than it was with my Ford Ranger.

I agree that the bed height is an issue. Would love a lower height, and looking at my lowering options

Had a 6.5 foot bed for ten years, with an F-150 SuperCab. Would have purchased my Lightning the same way given the choice. 5.5' is too small. Don't need full backseat.

The Lightning successfully replaces a minivan and 4 door 8 ft bed truck. I could not economically drive the old truck as a daily driver, hence the minivan. The Lightning does everything really well but I really miss the 8 ft bed. Just another 6 inches or foot would be so nice. Two pallets of anything just barely fit. Whereas with an 8 ft bed I could close the tailgate. For me, the Lightning back seat is just a really big tool box. I would have been willing to give up 6 inches for a bigger bed. (A 6 ft step ladder won’t even lay flat on the floor.)

Most annoying about the bed is hands down, not enough of it. I traded in a 7 passenger Explorer because I needed a cargo hauler, not a people hauler.

No such thing as a Lightning super cab so I'm back in a people hauler.

One of my biggest gripes is using the bed and it always being dirty. I live on a gravel road and would love a single piece fully connected bed and tailgate mat that keeps dirt out and allows for easy loading. Bonus points if it came with seals for the tailgate to keep dust from entering through the sides.

I would like a bed mat that could cover the tailgate as well once folded down or up. I have hauled multiple loose items and cringe when the debris falls between the tailgate and truck bed hinge. Bonus points if you could roll the mat outward to help dump cargo.

On a side note can you all make a spare tire cover? Maybe with a piece of hard plastic? I have a cover over mine now but it always tends to sag. I know it doesn't provide a major boost to range but should help with the overall aero of the truck to prevent air from catching the spare and pulling drag.

The excessively-large second row seating steals space from a more useful bed.

I agree that having a 6.5 foot bed would have been very nice. However I m not willing to give up the rear seat. First is that it regularly gets used for stuff, and I somewhat regularly have more than one passenger (all full sized adults - not kids). That was one of my biggest complaints about my first pickup - a 86Toyota 4x4 with the extended (not crew) cab. I could not carry both my kids in that vehicle. That was replaced with a 03 Dodge Ram 4x4 crew cab with a 6' 3" bed.
Don't need an 8' bed, but something longer than what we have would have been my choice.
