It’s weird as I thought there is no CarPlay support in GM EVs. But I am traveling and they gave me the Silverado EV to rent. I was prepared to do without. But plugged in for power and CarPlay popped up. Beyond that……it’s a powerful car with a a less bouncy ride. That’s where the positives end. Plastics, no drivers side grab handle . Really small cabin for such a big car. It’s harder to drive for me. A ton of missing little details.

The ride is good. It’s easy to go way too fast. You really feel all 9000lbs.

I recall reading that the first year and some trims of 2025 get AA and CarPlay. Here's the first article that came up when searching it... TBH, being such a dumb move, I wouldn't be surprised if they quietly change course and keep including them both going forward. It's not like they're gaining customers by not offering the convenience.

Edit:

You really feel all 9000lbs.
Interesting. I don't think I'd ever say this about my lightning. It's just effortless to drive...

Indeed. I would not trade in my lightning for any of the existing EV trucks

The “WT” work trucks that are like our Pro trim have CarPlay the higher optioned ones with the bigger screens do not have CarPlay.

The check from google was significant. [i assume]
That would make sense to someone I guess.

I assumed the transaction was in the opposite direction. Google can't advertise in a vehicle... although they can collect data. Still a baffling decision.
