I gotta get used to a few things.
I have been in the habit of plugging in my tablet for music.
this was fine for a couple of days, but today it did not want to cooperate.

My phone connects just fine.

but maps will not show up on the screen with either device.

do I have to download something in order for this to work and show up?

Make sure you have CarPlay enabled on your phone.
How to enable wireless CarPlay on your iOS device
  1. Enter the Settings App.
  2. Select 'General' Settings.
  3. Select 'CarPlay' Settings.
  4. From the CarPlay settings screen, if you have Bluetooth switched off, you'll be prompted to turn it on, to 'enable wireless CarPlay'.
