Hello, I have a 2023 xlt extended range with 20k miles and use the ford pro charger. Last night I plugged in the charger (where it's set to wait until midnight to start charging). As I was walking away, I heard a relay or something in the truck clicking over and over, then after maybe a minute, it got a charger fault, with the red ring at the charge port and a ford pass notification. So, I got in the truck and turned it on to see what is said on the screen and the red wrench and message of something like "immediately pull over to a safe location and stop vehicle" (but I was parked with the charger plugged in anyway). So, I turned the truck off and back on and everything seems fine and it charged as it was supposed to at midnight. I've never had anything like that happen, except I did have a batter module fail at 10k miles and got the powertrain fault/reduced power message. So, I'm wondering if this was just a one time fluke or if it's an indicator that something bad is coming. Has anyone else had this happen? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

one thing I forgot to mention... When I went back in ford pass to review the alert messages, only the charge fault is shown, nothing about the vehicle fault message I saw.

I've had this several times. My current hypothesis is that it happens when the state of charge is just right so the truck can't quite decide whether it can finish within the charge window or not. If it decides not, it starts right away when plugged in, and my hypothesis is that causes the truck to revise its estimate and determine that it can wait until the window starts, so it stops the charge. And repeat.

I've dealt with it by waiting until after the window starts before plugging in. Or, just let it fault, then after the window starts, do something to "wake up" the truck. Send a command to lock the doors or something. Even walking by with the key fob caused it to re-evaluate the schedule and start charging.

It's definitely something that should be fixed, but I can live with it. If they just unconditionally observed the charging window start time, rather than overriding it if the charge is too low, that would be better. It is inconsistent that it will start early, but will stop at the end of the window even if it hasn't reached the charge target. Seems to me if you're going to ignore the charge window you should be consistent about it. Or better yet, offer us choices in the app if it can't complete within the window. Start early, end late, or both.

I've had it happen a couple times. Power cycled the FCSP and all was well.

Did the charge fault follow a software update? I've gotten a spurious "stop safely now" message immediately following an update.

So far never seen that one with my Pro SR and FCSP.

I have had scheduled charging not happen when an OTA update occurred the same night, but no fault messages.
