Back story, just added a Ford damper to my new truck tailgate as I also had one on my old truck and liked it. Old truck it mounts in the gap between the gate and bed, new truck it goes inside the body behind the passenger tail light. Ok now that you're on the same page for this topic, when I open the old truck gate, it slowly lowers all the way to the bottom, this new damper slowly lowers the gate until the last inch of travel then drops the last bit like theres nothing there, it's not as bad as it slamming down from full open but still this doesn't seem right to me.
Was wondering if I need to send it back for a replacement or it's indeed normal as it is a much shorter damper than my old truck, don't know if that has any effect or not.
