Telsa Gen 3 Supercharging Not Working

I was unable to use the Gen 3 DC Telsa supercharging at two locations on July 6th at the following locations: Buc-ee's at Roberson, AL and The Wharf at Orange Beach, AL. I was able to charge at both these locations a month earlier. I keep getting the "Starting charger" in the Ford App (see below) and then the "Charging station fault, See manual" (see below)

I got the red blinking ring on the lights next to the Lightning charging port which is an indicator that there is an issue with the charging station. Since I was out of town, home charging was not available. Fortunately, I was able to DC charge at a ChargePoint (which only goes up to 98 Kw) at a Cumberland Farms convenience store in Orange Beach, AL.

I assume you mean Robertsdale, AL. Neither location shows issues in PlugShare.

People have been posting on multiple forums and FB on Tesla SuperCharger issues. The immediate response is usually "use a compatible location", but more than a few lately, like yours, are "I did".

Tesla gets that data, wonder if they're having a Tesla/Ford communication problem.

Were you trying to charge using Plug and Charge or were you activating the session using the Tesla app?
For all practical purposes, I always use the Tesla app at SuperChargers because you have to use their app to get the discount membership pricing. Reminds me that I need to turn that membership back on as I will be charging at a SuperCharger on a trip tomorrow...

I was traveling a lot the last two weeks, and everything worked great using the Tesla app until yesterday. I initiated the charge, everything looked good, but the Tesla app still told me to plug in. And yet, the truck was charging. I restarted the Tesla app, and it said the entire location was offline.

I have been having issues getting the truck to unlock the charger, and I was seriously worried since I couldn't stop the charge via the Tesla app. But, pushing the button on the truck immediately ended the charge and unlocked it, thankfully. As you likely suspected, I got billed by Ford at the much higher rate than my Tesla membership would have charged me.

But also, I might have not been able to charge at all if it was a Tesla issue, since the station shut down afterwards... Not sure.

Last weekend was my first road trip. I noticed the station I tried didn't show in Ford navigation at all, but I was using Google. I tried 3 stations since I'm new at this, they all showed error. Chalked it up to experience.
There was one next door to the EA charger I used in a different town that also didn't show in nav. Both were either new or newly converted.

Though nav didn't show the Rivian charger I used later either, and that worked fine.

The Ford Nav is essentially useless for charging. Careful using Google Maps as it will show Tesla Only locations and those won't work for our Lightnings. Easy way to tell is to look at the Public Charging on the Charging tab of the Ford app. It will show Tesla Only chargers, but will show then as non-compatible. You can also use the Tesla app. If you have set it up so it knows you are driving a Lightning, it won't show non-compatible charging locations at all. As long as the Tesla app knows what vehicle you are using, it will reliably show SuperCharger locations you can use. It is the most real time up to date on number of chargers available at that location.
Another useful source is PlugShare.com or their app on your phone. It will show damn near every charging location that there it. You can set up lots of filters to narrow down what you want. If you find a Tesla station, select it, and it will tell you if it is Tesla Only or Open to Non-Tesla.

The app is just a custom filter on the built in nav, unless I'm really missing something. Neither of the new Tesla chargers showed there, but I didn't trust it to be accurate so I tried the first one anyways. I've only had the thing a week and a half. Didn't know what I didn't know yet.

Public Charging didn't show the Rivian charger that worked great (and has a pull-through spot. Filing that knowledge away for potential future trips.)

And yes, I have all the apps now, including PlugShare.

I'm not missing anything. I'm reinforcing what the OP said because it happened to me too.

The supercharger shows available in the phone app but not in the screen app, and it didn't work. (Fred Meyer Ellensburg, WA) I didn't bother with the one on Smitty Blvd in Ritzville, WA one because it also didn't show in the screen. (Also it was crowded and I was confident the EA next door would work, because at the time those were the only ones I'd used.)

But neither the phone nor the screen show the Rivian charger in Ellensburg that Google does show, and which worked fine.
