If our ER batteries could maintain 400 kwh
impossible. The CCS-1 standard has a max current of 500 amps. With our slightly less than 400 volts, that means we max out at a bit under 200 KW charge rate.

With that said, as i understand it, the large battery version of the Silverado has two battery packs that run in parallel for driving and switch to series for charging - resulting in a just under 800 volt pack. 500 amps at 800 volts is 400 KW. Assuming that information is correct, an elegant solution to a faster charge.

Well no kidding. I said if our batteries could take a continuous 400 kwh charge rate. I.e. they can not,

I was using the 131 kwh battery as an example to show 400 kwh is fast enough, that the current batteries except a.cpuple of Chinese batteries are the real limit.

That makes sense for around town/urban situations, but the thing holding back adoption from folks I know is that it takes me 10 hours to make an 8 hour trip out-of-state. Highway charging will be a blocker to the green transport transition until and unless the 45 min charging stop is cut to 5 mins.
LMAO.

Shorter than filling a gas F-150....

😂 and shorter than filling the 35 gallon tank in my 7.3 F250 particularly because getting the last two gallons in took forever if the truck wasn’t sitting perfectly flat/slightly banked away from the filler side.
