If you go back to posts #63 to #68, you will see that I had added the WAL toggles via ForSCAN, but was unable to update the BCM via FDRS because of the need for a password that only Ford certified techs have.

Yesterday, I had my Lariat SR in for service via the dealer's valet, who picks up and returns the vehicle.

I requested the dealer to perform these items:

1. Park Module recall
2. Trailer module recall
3. 10,000 mile service (rotate tires)
4. NYS annual inspection.
5. Activate WAL via BCM update

In the afternoon, I could see my vehicle location was outside the dealership via the app. The service manager called a short time later to tell me my vehicle was ready and ask if I wanted to use reward points for payment. I said I did want to use the points and also asked if they were able to update the BCM module to activate WAL. He said, "I'll see what I can do."

About 20 minutes later, I could see in the app my vehicle was back inside the building. Soon after, I received a text message that the valet was driving my vehicle back to me.

Later that afternoon, when I exited my vehicle with the fob in my pocket, the horn honked, the mirrors folded in, and the doors locked.

I looked at the invoice and it had no mention of updating the BCM. No associated labor or charge.

My entire bill was for $28.14, which included $16.95 for the tire rotation, $10 for the NYS inspection, and $1.19 sales tax.

Also in western NY - Do you think this option would work for me on my 2025 Flash? I noticed I don't have walk away lock. 20k 'interval' is coming up.

You just need to politely ask. The worst thing the dealer can say is "no".

I got this added, I believe, a few weeks ago. When I noticed it, I activated it. It work the rest of the day, then didn't. I looked and it is now deactivated. I activate, it deactivates. So...I have it, but I can't activate it.

You have a 2025. WAL was added in 2024. All the talk about getting the BCM updated is for 22-23 year models.

Almost a year and I still don't have it. I have gotten other updates but not this one.

That is correct. My 22 Lariat has it and works with PAAK. Hasn’t failed once. I was expecting to glitch few times but it has not.

Can't speak to all trims but my 24 Flash has WAL and no PAAK.

One thing I've learned, well it still happens once in a while, with WAL is that if you're more than a few feet away from the truck as the frunk is closing or the tailgate is closing that it won't lock. I turned on the horn honk to give me a reminder since I seem to do this a couple of times a week still...

For 22-23s, I think you need at least the NU5T-14C184-AAT strategy in your BCM module for WAL to work. You can find your Strategy using Car Scanner or FORScan. Or DM me your VIN and I can check your AB.

I know the AAJ strategy does not have WAL. Not sure about AAL; likely no WAL but my data is incomplete there.
