After reading some posts on r/FordLightning about HV battery coolant being low, I went to check under the frunk. I started on the left, and after turning a bunch of these plastic things a quarter turn, pulled the cover off. Double whammy: battery coolant reservoir must be on the other side AND, when I went to reinstall, several of them wouldn't go. They have some type of backing and several fell into the netherworld. Thank God it's not an ICE car with tons of moving parts or plastic bits would be flying shortly.

Anyway, what are they called and where can I get some replacements? And is the battery coolant reservoir on the Driver's side?

I needed some of those also, someone here or another forum designed them as a 1 piece replacement, made some my self, works perfectly, Ford wants stupid $$ for new ones. Attached it to the post, if you don't have a 3d printer take the file on a thumb drive to someone that does. Make them out of PETG or better to stand the heat, PLA is a non starter.

Coolant is indeed on the driver side.

And you can see it without removing anything. Drivers side just forward of the firewall. Just open the frunk and it's easy to see.

Frunk trim clips or something along those lines. Only one size can be gotten from ford, the small ones I think? The other size only come as part of the trim panel assembly. Ask me how I know lol

I looked into this. The smaller clips are available from Ford. The only way to get the larger clips is to purchase a whole new trim piece. The best option is to 3D print them as others have said. PETG would hold up well or even a glass reinforced nylon if you feel like getting exotic and have a good enclosed printer with heated chamber.

As @K6CCC said, you can inspect the coolant level without removing covers. Open Frunk, look through the large slot for the frunk actuator on the driver's side. A flashlight might be needed but it's really easy to see the level. You still have to remove the cover to top it up if needed.

Not so easy on the Mach-E.

The number of clips that I've gone through in 3 years between the Lightning and MME would make your head spin. Poor design on both. I now print my own.

I need the female part of that clip. I have all the males.

I bought the ETSY clips. Not too impressed, very expensive for what
You get and they do not fit very well.

The 3d printable clip mentioned and linked to above replaces both parts in one.

I just ordered them seems like a very high price for teflon locks, bu its cheaper than Ford.

Costs about a nickel to print them.

Back 2 years ago, I had my truck in for servicing. Tech, as he usually did, lost connectors and didn't replace them. Discovered that the big connectors could not be ordered by Ford, they had to replace the entire cover. I made the dealer do that.

Ford should be fined for having a part created (frunk panel) with multiple connector types and you can't get all of them from the dealership parts dept.

The Mach-E panels include some connectors built onto the panels. Those eventually break off. Lousy design. I also got some of those replaced when the same tech broke them.

Is there a good reason for the frunk "beauty covers" or could they just be left off?

It's just trim panels for aesthetic value.
